Plus a group of wimpish Police Officers, armed to teeth, but shaking like jellies and huddled up in a store cupboard !!!

 

Besides the 19 cops waiting in the hall while the shooter continued to kill kids, I would like to know the total number of cops onsite? Looks like there were more than 50 officers on site, milling around, confronting parents, stretching yellow police tape, playing with their equipment, hiding behind trees... What the fuck were these idiots doing?

 

I have read and heard an assortment of sources about this shooting but I have yet to hear why the teacher left a locked door propped open. Was that to let police in if they ever showed up? I realize a locked door would not have prevented entry for the shooter but it could have slowed him down. Or am I just being stupid?

 

Sadly it wouldnt matter buddy,criminals would still get them!

 

I think the crux of the problem here is that this crazy kid was armed with 2 assault rifles and willing to use them. I'm not sure what the police were armed with but the standard issue is a G22 pistol . That is no match for an assault rifle that has the capability in burst mode to deliver a hail of bullets .So I am guessing reinforcements were needed as he was later taken out .So I do understand the hesitancy as its obviously a mismatch ,

While this may seem true, protocol for an "active shooter" is... When you show up, you engage. That's it.
