^ exactly what I thought WW. Even with the violence people (kids and adults) are exposed to, it certainly seems that anybody would recognize when they had crossed that line.

That is...anybody but someone with deep-seated "issues"...and by that I mean a young sociopath/psychopath. Even though he is only 13, I personally don't think this individual is going to "get better"...a very unpopular opinion, I am sure. Given time, he can learn how he should act and simply be able to feign remorse and seem to understand the difference between what one should/shouldn't do.

All the counseling in the world is not going to instill a conscience.

That has nothing to do with the topic at hand of a kid killing his sister. The republican party isn't at the center of every issue in this world, no matter how much you want them to be. It's also really funny hearing you of all people trashing an ideology for promoting hate. You seem like a pretty hateful guy yourself.

And of course, ignore the actual meat of the comment I left about how people shift blame to entertainment when parents fail to do their job and just focus on your 'the republicans are evil' shtick just because the CEO of the WWE's wife is a Republican, which is completely irrelevant to the discussion.

Yes, we all know that it is Republicans, Right wingers, Conservatives, or TEA party members who we should be placing the blame on, as rjh so eloquently points out in the OP.

I am disappointed in a lot of you. WWE is extremely violent and it is clearly marketed directly towards children.

When I was a kid I did not think it was fake nor did any of my friends. I remember one time when we were imitating wrestling moves during elementary school recess in maybe 4th or 5th grade, myself and 2 very close friends, did something which I think was called the 'Dudley drop.' My one friend who was the victim of what was referred to as a 'signature move' ended up with his entire face literally covered in blood from landing on a rock. None of us ever saw that coming. Funny thing is that the other friend went on to be state wrestling champ twice in high school.

It seems to me that a lot of different factors enter into this incident.

One of them certainly would be environmental and what is portrayed on TV would have to be considered.

A young mind is greatly influenced by what it is exposed to:

    Children And TV Violence
The Effects of Television Violence on Children
The Effects of Television Violence On Children

You missed the fact that I made this thread. The "topic" is REPUBLICANS INFLUENCING VIOLENCE IN KIDS. And the cons that respond to this, make it very clear that they are too cowardly to take responsibility for their ideology.
And your sandbox banter, "I know you are, but what am I" response for the ideology of hate only confirms it. There's a big difference between hate, and exposing it.

" REPUBLICANS INFLUENCING VIOLENCE IN KIDS."

I would have to ask, why are you letting the evil cons raise your children? Shouldn't you take on that responsibility?

I think I would look more toward money grubbing capitalists with a lack of conscience after reading what meagain posted, although it's well known that I'm no fan of republican "ideals".

I would think that Conservatives would be more likely to regulate this type of entertainment than would Liberals, Progressives, or Libertarians.
It would seem to me that as a group this would be one of the areas that Conservatives would welcome more governmental intervention.

However, as Scratcho points out, individually they like a free market.

America's babysitter has been the television since the 50's. I don't have any kids. If I did, I'd probably be in jail for corporal punishment. The government says you can't spank your kids any more, or at least you have to do it the government approved way.

When I was a kid it was real. They hurt each other bad. Today they still get hurt, but it's mostly done to themselves, like from flipping themselves off the top of a cage on to a table. One of the Heart brothers died riding a cable into the ring, when the cable snapped. There's no doubt they're tough guys. But the whole point of this thread is that they are teaching kids bad values, with the bad guys ganging up on a good guy, or even good guys ganging up on a bad guy. And the female wrestlers are porn for the kiddies. Violence and smut doesn't do anything for evolution. One famous gang of wrestlers called themselves "DEgeneration X", which is exactly what they're trying to promote.
Is it any wonder this country is so full of young morons? Nope.

That's not something the I myself could do. It's just like Congress, those that are the problem, won't ever be the solution. I can't fix that either, I can only expose it. Change has to be a collective effort.
