Last I saw there was still a hold out shouting that the end is near and that there are bombs placed around Dallas. One suspected bomb has been found reportedly.
Here is the latest from Dallas - this is nuts I’ve been glued to CNN all-night Dallas police chief: 4 officers killed, 7 injured at protest DALLAS (AP) — At least two snipers opened fire on police officers in Dallas on Thursday night, killing four officers and injuring seven others during protests over two recent fatal police shootings of black men, police said. Dallas Police Chief David Brown told reporters the snipers fired "ambush style" upon the officers. Mayor Mike Rawlings said one member of the public was wounded in the gunfire. Police later said in a statement that a suspect was is in custody and a "person of interest" had surrendered. They said a suspicious package was being secured by a bomb squad. The gunfire broke out around 8:45 p.m. Thursday while hundreds of people were gathered to protest fatal police shootings this week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/breakingnews/police-question-2-in-vehicle-after-shootings/ar-BBu5aky Hotwater
Four DPD, one DART officer. Meanwhile Oakland only had paint splashed on the police department door and a highway blocked. Yep. Oakland was more chill than Dallas.
Seems it's over. 5 dead now. http://abcnews.go.com/US/shots-fired-dallas-amid-protest-recent-police-killings/story?id=40422456
CBS interviewed the Mayor of Dallas and he said those in custody are not talking. The media though is linking it to the recent shootings.
No one really knows the circumstances of the deaths of those two men; the one from Baton Rouge and the one from St. Paul. I think it's really sad that there is a possibility of foul play on the part of the police involved in those shootings. Now there is retaliation, and it's hard to know what to feel. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for the safety provided by the local police. But people are hurt and angry over the revelations that black men are being shot, possibly for no reason. That said, the development in Dallas is not justifiable in any way. I don't condone it and I don't agree with it. I'm a little disgusted, and angered by it.

A "suspect" was killed in the parking garage. The man was killed after authorities cornered him in a garage at El Centro Community College. After several hours of negotiations, lasting into the early hours of Friday morning, officials exchanged gunfire with the suspect and "saw no other option" but to kill him by detonating a bomb, Brown said. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/protests-spawn-cities-across-u-s-over-police-shootings-black-n605686
The rapid transit officer who was killed has been identified. RIP and my condolences to his newly wed widow. (Brent)Thompson, 43, a nearly seven-year veteran of the transit force, got married in the last two weeks, Spiller said. His spouse was a fellow transit officer. http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/08/us/dallas-shooting-victims/index.html
