    Not bad. Kelly Clarkson stood barefooted as she serenaded Pope Benedict with Schubert's "Ave Maria" during the pontiff's 2008 visit to the States. That was a ballsy move -- not just tweaking the dress code before a notorious stickler for protocol, but singing anything classical for a guy with such a well-tuned ear.

    I doubt the pope would complain about bare feet in church, it says in the bible that shoes should not be worn on Holy ground. "And the Lord said unto Moses (as he approached the burning bush} put off the shoes from thy feet for thou art on Holy ground"
    I am assuming it took place in Church...

    I like the idea, but I've never gone barefoot to church. Must have something to do with my Catholic upbringing. Church was always a dress-up event and being uncomfortable was penance!
