0-9 month progression

Hey guys! I started my dreads on May 19th, 2012 so technically they are 10 months today, but I haven't taken any pictures for the last month, so here's a little 0-9 month timeline.

They aren't monthly pictures, more just random ones that I found and put together in order of time:

I started them with backcombing and since then, there has been a lot of love and patience. Tell me what you all think :2thumbsup:

 

they look cool but a bit neat for my liking...not enough character...
not gonna lie, looks like you crocheted them to death, please tell me you've stopped? haha
I think if you just stop touching them they'll look wonerful when they're more mature

Actually I've never crocheted them. I used a hook to blunt my tips, but never on the body of my dreads. I don't really even touch them, they just took the neat route on me and I'm fine with that lol and thanks We live in Florida

 

Thats crazy how you didnt even get a single loop! they look so.....smooth lol. They suit you though

 

I knoww! Some of the fatter ones are getting a little bumpy as they're continuing to mature, but there are no loops in any of mine. It's probably good that they decided to be really neat for me, because I'm a mechanical engineering major and I'll be applying for internship soon, and those people are very appearance based Hopefully if I tie them up, they wont care

how the hell aren't they crocheted? you musta done something other than back comb them! there's no loose hair or fly aways or loops or anything! and they're perfectly straight! mental.

I mean, I palm roll them softly when I get out of the shower to help them dry quicker, but I really haven't done anything with hooks or products to make them straight. Idk if it's my sectioning that made them like that or what, but I kind of like it. Especially because they're short, so if I had a lot of loops and stuff, it would make them even shorter

 

The first pic' in month three looks a bit peculiar - but other than that, they look great.

Yeah I understand dreadlocks lol I just mean that might be the reason why they looked "peculiar" to you that month

 

Not to be too rude, but that particular picture looked like it was a wig, rather than your natural hair. The other pictures from the same month looked awesome. Especially the one where you are wearing a bow-tie.
