Yep had the same probs in my ear at 8mm ish, looked fine when i did it then got swollen, bloody wasn't too good. I'd reccomend just downsizing...
ouch iv'e had a small blowout on my ear too, they suck! Yep downsize a size or two. Salt soak's work great twice a day. 1/2 pint of boiling water...
