    Hey hipsters, how's life?!

I'm a computer programmer and studying to be a web designer. I live in the Minneapolis area of Minnesota, I was raised Christian, am learning some of the asanas of Hatha yoga and I also practice TM. I study many of the religions and philosophies of the world and I continuously find myself fascinated by Chinese culture, especially as it pertains to Qigong, and Chinese martial arts, philosophy and history, and I am beginning to study the reading, writing and speaking of Chinese language. I love travel and am really anxious to visit China, India, Thailand and other places of the far east. I also love movies and have a growing library of them, thanks to Bittorrent, and my all time fave is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Well if anyone wants to drop me a line or PM me feel free any time at all. My email is being kept private to avoid spammers, but email messages and PM are enabled for me. I can also be found on Yahoo!, handle leogenx.

Hey there leogenx, groovy handle. I'm from Minnesota too, about 70 miles west on highway 12, on one of our 10,000 lakes. I also studied computer science for a couple of years, C, C++, Java and some VB. I guess I did it for a brain exercise, nobody’s going to hire a programmer at my age, Oh well. Years ago I practiced TM but not anymore. I’m at peace with myself and keep in touch with my inner spirit; it was a long journey to get there. What dialect of Chinese are you studying, Mandarin, Cantonese or another? Christianity is good in principal, but a study of the other major religions is mind expanding. I’ve traveled the Far East while in the Navy, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Pakistan. It was great to be able to intermix with all the different cultures. Just seeing how some live in such poverty and squalor, make me feel very fortunate to live in our country, it may not be the best, but it sure as hell beats the alternatives. I know you're aware fo this, but there are ISPs that provide anti-spamming software. I use Peoplepc, plus a Spybot and a good Anti-virus program. If all that fails, I have important things backed up and I can always reformat and start from scratch.

Let me extend the welcome mat. I recently found “The Hip Forums” myself and I know what it’s like to be a newcomer. You don’t really know what to say or how to act. Read some of the threads so you can get the gist of what topics are being discussed. When you feel comfortable jump right in and get your feet wet. Nobody here is going to “Flame” you, that just isn’t tolerated here (unless it’s necessary) lol. We get some assholes here who just want to stir up bad vibes... From what I’ve found so far is that we are one big family with many brothers and sisters. Once again the doors open come on in, open up your heart and mind, put on some groovy tunes, kick back and stay awhile. Peace & Love, DDR
