I was pointing out that some parts of our government are still working despite all the damage Trump and Pence have caused.

No, I think the only complaint is that Trump himself remained silent about the action, after also remaining silent about Putin's illegal actions while congratulating him on his electoral victory. The expulsions are a good move, long overdue (though somewhat token), and he deserves credit for that. Catch him doing something right!

An article about Trump's embrace of authoritarian tactics in his personal business activities being projected onto the the international political world.

Trump is embracing a new generation of strongmen
Some of Trump’s best friends are authoritarians.

Trump is embracing a new generation of strongmen

    From the article:

"The pattern, at this point, is clear: When a country is in the process of dismantling democracy, civil liberties, or checks on authoritarian power, Trump will have nothing to say. In fact, it seems that he’ll show up only to praise the would-be authoritarian ruler.

It’s hard to know why Trump behaves this way. But there’s a clue in a Sunday Axios article about the president’s view on drugs. Five sources told Axios’s Jonathan Swan that the president outright admired countries where drug dealers get the death penalty and wished he could do the same in the United States.

“He says that a lot,” one source told Swan. “He says, ‘When I ask the prime minister of Singapore, do they have a drug problem, [the prime minister replies,] ‘No. Death penalty.’”

Trump seems to have a genuine, somewhat instinctive disregard for civil liberties and democratic norms — and admires “strong” leaders, like Xi and Erdogan, who simply cast them aside. He doesn’t like constraints on his own authority and wishes he could act like those who don’t have them.

Trump “has what you might think of as autocratic tendencies, which were probably perfectly normal in the business world but are very problematic in the political world,” Sheri Berman, a professor at Barnard College, told me last year. “What he would like to do is eliminate all sources of opposition to him — indeed, even sources of criticism of him — and he’s willing to do pretty much anything to do that.”"

'Scheduling conflicts' is the reason being given by many of those attorneys.

Trump could always hire lawyer Brett Talley to defend him. Talley is the ghost chaser who Trump nominated to be a federal judge and who later withdrew. He should have sufficient time.

Trump picks ghost hunter to be judge

Au contraire. He finally did something right, he was forced into it, but right non the less.
But Trump should have manned up and publicly criticized Putin.

He wasn't forced into anything. He could have vetoed. I don't think he's afraid of a govt shutdown. Hell that's routine for politicians now.

He may well be showing us how he handles Putin. He wasn't afraid to kick their ass in Syria. Time will tell.

How did he kick ass in Syria? Putin just told him Russia will attack American forces in Syria if they even think or fart in that country.

He forgot to criticize because he was playing golf. Remember what he said about Obama when our Muslim president played golf.

    He was Muslim? Show me.

Trump bombed the Russian base that launched the chemical weapons attack against Syrian civillians.

The U.S just killed 300 Russians when they launched an attack on their position.

You need links for proof or are you going to re-remember it now that you heard it? It was covered pretty widely by all forms of media both left and right.

Putin runs his mouth like Trump does. Let's put some action behind it.

Trump is determined to get the U.S. taxpayers to pay for his wall.

Trump privately presses for military to pay for border wall

    excerpt:

"“Build WALL through M!” Trump recently wrote on Twitter. He retweeted those words on Tuesday. Two advisers said that “M” stood for “military.”

It would be unlikely for the military to fund the wall, according to White House and Defense Department officials. The president has suggested to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis that his department, instead of the Department of Homeland Security, could fund the construction, two Trump advisers said.

The Pentagon has plenty of money, but reprogramming it for a wall would require votes in Congress that the president does not seem to have. Taking money from the current 2018 budget for the wall would require an act of Congress, said a senior Pentagon official."

That comedy video was from August 2017 when Trump threatened to shut down the government because of his wall. Seven months later, Trump once again threatened to shut down the government for not getting his wall money.

Such posted videos are usually tagged 'comic relief' to distinguish them from the actual cartoon-like Trump behavior which borders on self-parody and could easily be mistaken for fiction.

Trump apparently was listening to Ann Coulter on Fox News over the weekend when she was making remarks about using the military to fund and build the wall. Trump parroted her remarks a few hours later on Twitter.

Obama went to a Madrasa in Indonesia per Alex Jones reporting...a favorite of Republicans and Trump.
Trump did not bomb a Russian base...it was a Syrian base and Trump just put a hole in their runway.
Trump did not kill 300 Russians...Putin denies it. Putin says there were civilian mercenaries there...kind of like Blackwater. And Blackwater denied half the crap they pulled in Iraq against unarmed civilians.
Finally, I don't need proof. Under normal circumstances I just say what I want to say. I learned to do that in the bars of Bakersfield California. Look up Rancho Bakersfield motel and clubhouse.

I'm not sure what he wants the military to do. And I would hope any Amy engineer with a brain would understand the time and cost to have a strategic wall that long. If tax dollars meant for war go to it how do we continue to fight the War on Terror if we are not funding the troops?
His party believes every cent we give them currently and more is needed to keep them ready. Even though the American military is larger then the next several countries combined who are mostly allies we need all of it.

So if we use military funds does that mean a tax increase so their funding is not cut? Or does he mean taking a portion of those funds away from troops to build a wall? Seems very unpatriotic to screw the military in a time of war. Or does he maybe get that the American military could be significantly smaller and still be large enough to defend American soil and be on other soil quickly. I think he's just an idiot who has another pie in the sky dream his followers can latch onto. Long before Trump I heard them talk about a wall. It's always been a good solution to them and they have been waiting a long time for it. Trump is just the first one to repeat right wing radio. He said during the campaign that he listened to it and repeated what they said because that was what Republicans wanted.
