    Trump 2.0.

A critique of pure stupidity: understanding Trump 2.0

    excerpt:

"The spectacle of a prominent vaccine sceptic and wellness crank as secretary of health and human services goes beyond an abandonment of truth; it feels like an assault on human progress. Bans on fluoride in tap water, passed by legislators in Utah and Florida at Robert F Kennedy Jr’s behest, mark a new hostility to the very idea of evidence-based government. The escalation from Trump One to Trump Two has seen irrationality spread from the deliberative public sphere to flood the veins of government."

The Republicans are trying to frame everything within the context of migrants and transgender, as if the government was shut down because of those issues.

    excerpt:

"A lot of good can come down from shutdowns," he said. "We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn't want, and they'd be Democrat things. But they want open borders. They want men playing in women's sports. They want transgender for everybody. They never stop. They don't learn. We won an election in a landslide."

    excerpt:

"They say that undocumented people are going to get these credits," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday. "That is absolutely false. That is one of the big lies that they tell."

President Donald Trump said the government shutdown that took effect Oct. 1, 2025, will likely include mass layoffs and program cuts.

Trump's supporters are going to be hurt by the lack of ACA subsidies as much as any other group. They may not realize it at the moment.

The U.S. farmers are realizing the injury Trump has done to them with his trade battles, deportation of farm workers, and his bailing out of Argentina which is now a competitor to U.S. farmers in the soy market.

As Tennessee farmers face soybean losses, federal government weighs bailout

    excerpt:

While farmers are struggling financially, Meadows said a bailout isn’t the answer.

“As a farmer, I would tell you first and foremost, all we want is fair access to markets around the world,” Meadows said. “We’re never looking for bailout money, whatever. We really just want a free, fair, open market to be able to move our product in so that we can continue to sell soybeans in the markets that we’ve sold into for several years now.”

It's good he doesn't want farm welfare checks from the government.

Some of the Trump-supporting farmers have been raving about his direct subsidies (welfare checks) that he issued during his first term.

Farmers are frustrated at how Trump wrecked their soy market with trade wars and made it worse by bailing out Argentina which is selling soy to China.

The government shutdown has closed off avenues for farmers to try to salvage soy losses by planting other crops such as canola. They need to apply for loans to grow the alternative crops but can't because of the shutdown.

Trump said publicly that he is upset that China is not purchasing soy from the U.S. as leverage to defend itself from Trump's trade wars.

What did Trump expect China to do?

The temporary trade war detente between Trump and China ends in November unless the two agree to extend it. Trump says he will meet with China later in October.

During his first term, Trump said trade wars are easy to win.

Now he's upset that they're not easy to win.

Speaker Johnson keeps trying to apologize for all the boneheaded, authoritarian remarks Trump made in his speech to the military generals.

He resorted to the old 'Trump was just joking' line.

    The utter incompetence of Trump.

He sends the military into Portland after seeing old video on Fox of the unrest in Portland in 2020 and says he didn't realize that type of thing is still going on. It isn't.

Then he meets with 800 generals and admirals who could tell him exactly what's going on in Portland but instead talks for 73 minutes about topics such as why he has to walk slowly down stairs and does his little hand dance and blurts 'bop bop' for added effect..

Democrats liken Trump to Putin after call to use US cities for military training

    excerpt:

"At Tuesday’s event in Quantico, the defense secretary vowed the military would abolish “overbearing rules of engagement” and “untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralise, hunt and kill the enemies of our country”.

There were few visible reactions from the generals and admirals, who sat largely silent and expressionless. Trump, accustomed to roars or laughs at campaign rallies, found his punchlines fell flat."

Democrats liken Trump to Putin after call to use US cities for military training

    excerpt:

"JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, which is bracing for Trump to deploy national guard troops to his state, questioned the president’s mental health and accused him of behaving like an autocrat.

“It appears that Donald Trump not only has dementia set in but he’s copying tactics of Vladimir Putin,” Pritzker said. “Sending troops into cities, thinking that that’s some sort of proving ground for war, or that indeed there’s some sort of internal war going on in the United States is just, frankly, inane and I’m concerned for his health.”

Since returning to office in January, Trump has used crime and illegal immigration as a pretext to expand federal agents and national guard troops into cities led by Democrats, often with big African American populations."

The US is pursuing an unconventional sovereign wealth fund - OMFIF

    excerpt:

"TikTok provides even more drama. A series of executive orders from Trump granted the TikTok app a reprieve from the a ‘sell-or-ban’ demand till mid-September, and the US SWF may emerge as a major shareholder of TikTok. As in the Nippon Steel acquisition of US Steel, the US ownership in TikTok may take the form of ‘golden shares’, which grant the government veto power over key corporate decisions."

Johnson says Trump's remarks about using U.S. cities as training grounds for the military to go after American citizens who are the 'enemy within' were cherry-picked.

They were cherry-picked from all the other jackass, authoritarian, unconsitutional, fascist remarks Trump made during his 73-minute tirade to 800 generals and admirals who weren't laughing.

    Pentagon Christian prayer.

READ: Hegseth’s Speech to Generals and Admirals

    excerpt:

In closing, a few weeks ago, at our monthly Pentagon Christian prayer service, I recited a commander’s prayer. It’s a simple yet meaningful prayer for wisdom for commanders and leaders. I encourage you to look it up if you’ve never seen it, but the prayer, it ends like this: “And most of all, Lord, please keep my Soldiers safe, lead them, guide them, protect them, watch over them, and as you gave all of yourself for me, help me give all of myself for them. Amen.”

Hegseth's speech sounds like a cheerleading chant to the military where everyone yells with him:

    Fight! Fight! Fight!
    Kill! Kill! Kill!
    Win! Win! Win!

Now everyone down on your knees for the Christian prayer.
