Cool! I'm only boiling a dozen since my husband is the only one of us five that will eat the hard boiled eggs in the end (I am soooo not an egg person. Blech!), but the kids are totally excited about coloring them! I am too really! It's fun!
Have a good time!

well....i returned a bunch of empty beer bottles and bought the eggs with the money i got back from those.....plus they are cheap eggs, so i don't feel bad about just throwing them out after awhile.....maybe i'll make deviled eggs and bring them to work, and all the people here can eat them....
i like eggs, but i refuse to eat any eggs that are not from free-range/cage-free chickens.......

I actually only buy that kind too...I got a thing about chickens, esp. seeing them hanging out of chicken trucks and splattered on the road on a weekly basis. It's disturbing to eat anything else. (I hope this is the year i get my own chickens and i can be done with all that sillyness, store eggs are expensive and you never know how old they are...)
I'm such a freak...we never colored eggs when I was a kid. It's hard for me to get into it now with my kids...it brings up alot of outside looking in kinda feelings.
It's so strange when the customs get detached from the religions them selves.
I love hardboiled eggs though...but you know, there was a time when i first got married and a few years before, when i could'nt get the eggs to set up. Rich and i timed it once and I had the eggs at a rolling boil for twenty minutes and let them set in the hot water for another 15 and the insides were still runny. After so many years i lost interest, it came back to me and I can boil eggs again.
lol, now I just burn everything. heehee I never used to burn stuff...now it's almost impossible not to.
I guess if i sit down and color eggs with my kids i can make new egg coloring memories...and that sounds kinda good.

it is the year of the cock you know.....and i'm talking about the chicken, of course....so maybe it is your year for chickens.....
....my aunt and uncle have over 200 chickens right now, they are free-range, and it's the BEST chicken i've ever tasted.....
i used to get my eggs from a local farmer (who also did the free-range/cage-free thing), so i knew they were fresh.....but out here, i'm still trying to find a farmer who does this as well.....i don't think raising chickens in an apartment building would work too well, so i'm going to have to hold off on doing that until i get my own home....and yard....
and.....i think you should definetly create your own memories, kim.....and if coloring eggs with your kids can be part of those memories....i say go for it....if that makes any sense at all....
