Rainbow trail?

What is it exactly (assuming that there is an "exactly" to it)? I have heard a little about it, but how is it done? Also, is it possible to hook up with rainbow trail folks at gatherings?

There are numerous regional gatherings, camp-outs, holding camps and otherwise uncatagorizable gatherings of rainbow-type people happening all over the country. People who travel from gathering to gathering are on the rainbow trail. This doesn't mean they only go to gatherings. They may go to festivals, rock shows and what not to make money, see the sights, or just to avoid rainbow burn-out. Most gatherings you go to these days you'll meet a few 'road-dogs' like myself who may be on their way to another gathering after that one. There is the trail. Like all things rainbow, there is no offical trail. Since this time of year has several gatherings going on at once, the trail can seem to branch off in several directions. So there is more than one 'trail' in that sense.
