^^^ THIS ^^^
It's about making the government "Of The People" back into a government of the people instead of a government paid for by corporations as it is now.

Media has really influenced us, we are passive observers who no longer associate themselves as part of the bigger picture. We just see ourselves as "normal" individuals who have jobs when in reality if everyone we're to realize that we do have a voice we could very well influence many of the issues we oppose. Like you said we have to do something, people might not agree with occupy but hey.. at least they are trying to enact change rather than simply letting the events pass by.

In some way or another, all us ordinary folks will be screwed by "the 1%". You're day will come. It might take until your aged and weak, unable to start over, and "they" pull the rug out from under you but you will feel the effect someday.

Yeah, I make mistakes like that when it's starting to get late in the day.

Because working for someone should be the only priority in life. At least according to what appears to be their logic.

"Making it" in today's world Not In corporate America is unbelieveably hard, I have found out. Especially in my (not so grand) state of SC. Recently our governor literally made it a LAW for ALL state agencies to answer the phone:
"It's a great day in SC. How may I help you?"
I was not able to get an appointment with the Mental Health Dept nor Voc Rehab. haha...but that is true.
One has to jump through many hoops of fire to start one's own business.
I have no idea what this has to do with anything...but I think the Occupy movement must be on to something, if it can ultimately make it easier for me to find a job.

I hope this thread gets popular because I'm on the fence about Occupy. While I support their overall message, I don't think camping is going to get us anywhere. The Government doesn't give a shit if we are out there chillin' waiting for some kind of change. It would have worked.... once by now. I hear people talk about "Awareness" a lot too, and I'm pretty sure everyone is aware. I don't have the answer for how to change what's going on. I'm too busy out there living and working to let politics affect me on a personal level. I went down to our local occupy which meets every Saturday from 10a.m. until about 3p.m. It was nice to hear people talk about things that they were concerned about and I did learn a lot. The free exchange of ideas was wonderful and people were so passionate. their group has a person that keeps up on all the goings ons and gives a rundown every week. It's over before anyone even gets a look at them and it's overlooked by the news.
