What is Communism?

Communism isn't a good thing, why are you giving the first guy who said that a bad rep? Imagine you had invented the internet, instead of getting rich like in a capitalistic society, MOST of your money goes to the government, and THEY redistribute it. And yes, for everyone who gave the last guy a bad rep, communism is a lie. Do you honestly think Russia is better off than America?

Russia isn't communist? And if there's a dictator at the top it also means it wasn't communistic in the true sense when it was the soviet republic.

Oh, right. you're right. The Soviet Union dissolved in 1989. But they still weren't better off. I don't like the idea of giving 90% of my money to the government. Sure the wealthiest 1% should have to give back, but I only make 500 dollars every two weeks and New york state takes over 100$ in taxes, do you really want to live in a country where you have to give the government your hard earned money and hope they spend it right??

I would rather know for sure they spend it right, but I'm neither in Russia or the US. I don't think Russia is better off by the way, both countries have it perks.
Of course 'my' government is no exception of wasting money in bottomless pits or on things I am plain and simple against but they're socialistic enough to accept them as one of the better goverments in the first world as far as I am aware of of course.

The biggest problem in Americas government (and probably yours too,) is legalized bribery. Right? These Political Action Commitees (C PAC.) It's the oil industries, arms dealers and, bankers who want war, cause they profit from it. But the guy who invented apple isn't some rich monster hell-bent on making the poor poorer. However, many leftist fail to see that.

I have the feeling that's one of the biggest problems in US goverment indeed and to some lesser extend here in the netherlands as well. I do think it's hard to get a really good picture of what a country's goverment is doing unless you are really researching/following it though. Even when it's generally the case they're ignoring the people and do want 'they' think is best for the country or better said the goverment or themselves. Also, the majority of a country's people can be better of in certain aspects than the people in the holy land of the free regardless how fucked up their goverment is.

The USSR was an unorganized rush for power. Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky were all fighting for power over the union. The Bolshevik and Menchovik parties caused internal war while corrupting sections of the union causing the main output of the states money and food supply to dwindle. This, is a mixture of Stalanism, Leninism, Trotskyism, Bolshevism, Menchovism and socialism. It only makes sense that the union lost and was sent back some few years.

Look into marxism, its a humanitarian version of communism or just Pure Communism.

First things first, we have never seen communism in action, the closest we have been was russia shortly after the 1917 revoloution under Lenin, this then turned in to a degenreated workers state under Stalin and became Stainism not Communism.

the notion of a Communist state is a nonsequiter as communism is by definition the absence of states. socialism is also not something that could be acheived by a quick overnight revoloution as with any major change there would need to be some transitional system that leads to socialism, as there was during the change from feudalism to capitalism.

also regarding the notion of not being able to profit from inventing the internet. to the best of my knowledge the most important computer scientists that have worked on the things that have led to the world we live in today did not do so for profit. also the internet was not invented by one person but by the US military, there is a slight irony in this site now existing on the internret but as Lenin said "the capitalist will sell us the rope with which we hang them"
