Occupy Wall Street to Mayor Bloomberg: Get Your Facts Straight; Stop the Fear Mongering

“Bloomberg lied yesterday when he claimed that a sexual assault suspect was merely kicked out of the park, when in fact OWS security personnel forcibly removed the individual and handed him directly to the NYPD,” said Andrew Smith, a member of OWS’s overnight Community Watch.

“Mayor Bloomberg is pandering to fear. What we’re seeing is a lot of effort to undermine and suppress the movement and divert from the damage the mayor and his billionaire friends are doing to the country.”

The occupation at Liberty Square is a civic space, where concerned citizens are raising pressing issues facing our nation. The mayor should be lauding this renaissance of civic participation, but instead he has been consistently demonizing participants.

Yes, the MSM is going all out right now to demonize the movement. They've got their instructions from Homeland Security, probably. Even the Bay Area newscasts yesterday emphasized the spray painted walls and broken windows (for like 10 minutes - showing nearly every instance), the violence (for like 5 minutes) and minimized the success of the Port shutdown mentioning it for just like 20 seconds.

They did show the protesters cleaning up the graffiti at the end, but the reports which had been very favorable the day before suddenly turned very negative on the protests!

The day after the city stripped the protesters encamped in Lower Manhattan of their generators and fuel, the Northeast was hit with a bone-chilling snowstorm that blanketed their tents and tarps with sleet and ice. The encampment at Zuccotti Park endured.

unfortunately ,the longer it goes on it will become a place where the cities homeless and undesirables show up. For a quick meal, or a money scam, or outright violence fueled by too much booze- - this bunch will be thrown in the same videos, same news programs, and same cells . as the peaceful protesters.

Its already happening in NY- some of the support they were getting a few weeks ago seems to gone away- - It seems to have gotten qioter, and media scum such as fox will portray this as a sign of weekness* *

Crosby & Nash to perform at Occupy Wall Street

Singers David Crosby and Graham Nash are scheduled to perform a concert at the Occupy Wall Street protest in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park.
The Occupy Wall Street website says the concert this afternoon will be an acoustic set of protest songs.
