Police Defy Orders To Arrest Protesters!

Quote:
In Albany, last night, Governor Cuomo and Mayor Jennings ordered state and local police to enforce a curfew, and remove the Occupy Albany protesters.
The police defied those orders.
With protesters acting peacefully, local and state police agreed that low level arrests could cause a riot, so they decided instead to defy Cuomo and Jennings.
“We don’t have those resources, and these people were not causing trouble,” a state official said. “The bottom line is the police know policing, not the governor and not the mayor.”
Things are breaking now. With police siding with the first amendment and the right of the people to peaceably assemble against the wishes of elected officials.
The fact that the police refused to act proves one thing:
Those governments which attack the protesters do so for political reasons, instead of reasons of public safety.

As mayors in cities across the country attempt to evict protesters doing nothing more than exercising their first amendment right to peacefully assemble and air their grievances, the actions of the authorities in Albany reveal that law enforcement officers across the country will no longer uniformly crack down in inappropriate ways.
Why? They don’t view these protests as anarchist or anti-American. They don’t view them as dangerous.
Listen to the words of Albany County District Attorney, David Soares:
“Our official policy with peaceful protesters is that unless there is property damage or injuries to law enforcement, we don’t prosecute people protesting,” Soares said. “If law enforcement engaged in a pre-emptive strike and started arresting people I believe it would lead to calamitous results, and the people protesting so far are peaceful.”
We don’t prosecute people protesting who so far are peaceful.
Yes, Albany is just one city. But it is the capital of a state that houses the symbolic center of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Police support for Occupy Buffalo has been outstanding. We have even gotten a few beeps from them. Cops on state, county, and city levels have showed at least a little support for us. They probably know we are out there fighting for their pensions along with everything else.

There will be a response from the feds over this, just watch. They will enforce discipline among the ranks of the police, because the police are the first line of defense against the people. If they lose the police, the revolution is won, and they know it.
They will probably issue orders instructing the police to obey executive orders or they will be fired or put on leave.
I'll tell you this, if the police were to JOIN the protests, en masse, you'll see the National Guard come out in force. The Governors control them and they can use them to enforce any orders they choose.
But the police are correct in their judgements. If the people are peaceful there is no reason to arrest them or make a scene. Police rioting is the cause of nearly all injuries during protests.
But the people can only stand so much abuse. With the whole world watching, what happens in one protest, is like it is happening everywhere. So the police have to be on their guard.
Just one death and suddenly the movement has a MARTYR!
Is that what they want?
And let's NEVER FORGET THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF OUR FEARLESS LEADER, Ronald Reagan who said:
"If it's a bloodbath they want, let's get it over with!"
And with that he ordered the National Guard to attack peaceful student protesters in Berkeley.
Let's hope those days are gone. But I fear not.

This behavior should be rewarded, but I don't think that we should cram the non-emergency line at the police department with our calls. They gave us the Chief's e-mail.
Say "thank you!"

I just sent him my thanks and my signature was "Keep the Peace" instead of my usual "Peace"...
OH SHIT! I was just thinking...
Anonymous posted up this police chief's personal info including home addy and phone #. (I think they did it for all the police chiefs).
Maybe he's worried...LMAO!

Kind of weird these days, I am sure the National Guard knows its part of the 99 % Maybe the 1% fatal flaw will be the fact that they fucked everyone. These guys in the Guard probably spent time deployed in one war or another, then they will be called in to attack their own citizens and fellow soldiers. With everyone getting the same financial fucking and waking up and realizing it who will be left to stand with the 1%

There's a very good chance the National Guard would side with the people this time, given the history of such actions against protesters in the past, ie: Kent State, Jackson State, Berkeley, Chicago 1968, etc.
And should THAT happen it's all over for this government. Imagine all these highly trained, experienced soldiers given arms, then put on the streets and then deciding to side with the people, as the army did in Egypt...
Of course then the regular army would be put on the streets by Obama and it would become a civil war. Maybe it's better most of them are overseas...
