Breathing is controlled by medulla oblongatta isn't it? And the way your body knows when to breath is excess levels of CO2 and less oxygen in your circulatory system.
Yawning is a way to get more oxygen into your system, not just your brain, but that is part of it, and it is initiated as a response by your brain because you basically have forgotten to take deep breaths enough times.
No, this shouldn't delve you into a deeper trip, your brain doesn't start operating on some new level with an influx of oxygen if I am not mistaken.
