What kind of worries me in all this, is that we might inadvertently become suspects by association with threads like this on the internet.

I know a story about some guy in Scotland who recently made some comments on facebook about Neil Lennon, the Celtic manager who has been receiving death threats and bombs in the post. Two days later the police turned up at his door asking questions..

Don't worry about it, threads like this are all over the Internet, with people discussing Anonymous.

And you can be sure it's being monitored by someone, anyway as usual around here.

Yeah, don't kid yourself. I guarantee that someone from the FBI is monitoring this thread. And to that person I put the question "How are you feeling about YOUR liberty right about now?" The day we allow ourselves to be afraid to openly say anything in this nation is the day that this nation becomes no different than North Korea. I refuse to be intimidated by the people I employ. Remember these assholes are supposed to be working for us, for our benefit, and they need to be reminded of it, and frequently. In my not-so-humble opinion - this is exactly the point that Anon is trying to make. You can call them cyber terrorist, but let me remind you of one fact. The difference between terrorist/terrorism and freedom fighter/revolution is perspective. Take the BOA example - Bank of America was (and I have no doubt continues) to break the fucking law of the land. Who regulates it? Who's coming down on BOA in a meaningful way - I'm not talking about some piss ant fine that they've already accounted for in their risk management report. BOA's lawyers know how to get around the law - and that's why they recruit the best and even if they do something they can't skirt around, they self regulate! They lobby and have the laws and loop holes written in their favor. They can do this kind of crap with a $6,000 campaign contribution - that's nothing - they can cover that in a millisecond with the unbridled and unregulated usury they practice. YOUR GOVERNMENT IS IMPOTENT. INDUSTRY IS SELF REGULATED. The damn EPA (Nixon's clever little fuck you to the environmentalist movement) is a SHAM! Do you know where the EPA get's most of it's funding? LICENSING FEES - in other words, they get money for allowing polluters to pollute - that's their primary stream of income - THAT IS INDUSTRY SELF REGULATION in a round about shell-game kind of way. That kind of industry regulation is designed with CORRUPTION in mind. If your ever in doubt or dumbfounded by something a privateer does (and that's all these pharma, banking and energy giants are - a bunch of pirates) just dig around and see who gets paid. Don't rely on the media to illuminate this for you - because they are in on it. I predict that this government will do its best to figuratively bomb Anon and Wikileaks back to the stoneage - wipe them off the face of the earth - because there IS NO GREATER THREAT to the military industrial complex than the truth - because if it gets out to enough people and spreads (and it is spreading like wild fire right now) the serfs aren't going to stand for it - and believe me if enough serfs get fed up with being sodomized by a government that has betrayed them - there will be change, and it won't be peaceful. Right now, enough people are still dazzled and distracted by the fake ass wrestling match going on in D.C. - it's a soap opera folks - a distraction - the old divide and conquer bit, oh and it works so well to keep the serfs cheering from the sidelines, (are you rooting for FAUX NEWS OR MSNBC?) but doing little else of any real consequence - but more and more people are waking up to the fact that the game is rigged, that the ball isn't under any of the cups - it's not even on the table - it never was - it's been in the palm the whole time.

Speaking of Bank of America... they've long been regarded as part of the fascist state, financing America's Wars based on Lies.

Once upon a time students did something about it...

Today's students would rather get a job with Bank of America than take issue with their politics.

Great video! "When the government shuts down the Internet, shutdown the government..." Hummm... where have I heard that before?

Non-violent resistance to corporate/government fascism is the way to go.

I think the government would be smart to see this whole movement as free speech and just ignore it, so long as there is no violence. No real damage is done other than to corporate reputations which are defended constantly with bailouts and deregulation under corporate run governments.

Bring corporations under control of the people, as it should be, and things will improve.

Corporations and their leaders should not be immune to action by the people if they subvert democracy (in so many ways) anywhere on the planet.

News Corp being a prime example of what I'm talking about. So the non-violent pie-thrower was justified with his action, imo. He represented the feelings of thousands, if not millions of people.

It was HUMBLE PIE, delivered direct from The People to you, Mr. Murdock!

It will be very interesting to see how this pie-thrower gets treated in England vs how these Anonymous cyber-protesters get treated in the USA.

Or they could look at it as a free way to test the security of their online databases, to give them both peace of mind that information is truly safely locked up in a basement somewhere in a desert and if it's not, an opportunity to tighten up their firewalls so it doesn't happen in the future, with perhaps devastating consequences. It's amazing what effect a little piece of information in the wrong hands can have in today's world.

They could even look at is an opportunity to listen to the people and make some changes, but I doubt that will happen.
