Calling the cops for yoga? Lol.

Ah, the joys of living in the Midwest.
It's a lovely morning today, and my apartment is so cramped that I have trouble doing yoga in it, so I packed the mat three blocks to the local park. Yoga at dawn. Outside. Yay. I came off the mat 75 minutes later, lost track of time between practice and meditation, picked up some litter on the island in the pond (The locals have a horrible fear of trashcans, or something: 15 empty bins, and litter everywhere. Sigh.), and went to the washroom to clean up.
When I came out, there were 2 squad cars waiting for me. Someone had called in a complaint about a drunk chick in black wandering around the water. We sometimes have dead drunks show up in the pond, so Sedalia's Finest needed to be sure I was safe.
Luckily, it was early enough that the Night Cops showed. They're nicer than the day shift out here. I was obviously sober. I told them that I had been out here for the last hour, and had seen no drunks. Let them know I was planning to come back whenever weather permitted, and they said it was ok.
Whoever made that call made my morning. It's nice to know they were concerned, and the officers thought it was hilarious.

Yeah, I know what you mean--I think people in St. Joseph have forgotten what trash cans are for too! LOL As for whoever it was that called the cops, it was probably some busybody with too much time on their hands and nothing else to do--but the situation could have been a lot worse--I'm glad it wasn't, though!

I'm heading back out this morning, but as I stated the local PD knows that I'm doing this. If they keep having to come back, I'll offer to bring them my spare mat. The caller can come too.

Tiiiiiny, and crowded with CRAP. We're downsizing over this summer, taking it down to ONLY what we cannot possibly do without for a while to see how that goes. I'm working on my husband while trying to improve myself. He's very yuppie, always wanting more and bigger and shinier until the clutter (and empty bank account) has threatened our marriage.
Me, I come from a long line of hoarders, so we both are going to need work. We'll be making three sets of junk: Stuff to keep, stuff to store at his folks while we decide if we need it, and stuff to just make disappear. We'll be donating, Ebaying, and freecycling a lot if I have my way. It's horrible in here, we only have a little walkway from one piece of furniture to the next when everything is where it belongs.
Update: I got to the park, and it was freezing. Nope, no park yogas for me today. I'll pack the mat off to class and unroll when it's warmer.

since I have had cops called on me for hula hooping at night (using earbuds...did my one drop in three hours bother somebody more than the punk band down the street?) i completely relate!
good luck with decluttering. I had two downsizing sessions a year apart and it lightened me in so many ways.

In my old town, I once asked a lady for 75 cents and next thing I know, I'm being greeted by an annoyed cop responding to the call....Said he had a complaint of me asking for money. I told him I need 75 cents so I can buy a nasty cigar thing b/c I had no cigarettes. He laughed, gave me 75 cents, and left.
I guess I am a cop magnet. I always run into them, never get tickets hardly (three in the last 6 years), and I just seem to have a good repoire with them. It's a nice feeling knowing they're not stopping to talk to me b/c I'm up to no good (or I am, but they don't realize it)

I can't believe someone called the cops! But hey, at least the cops were cool and you already warned them that you'd be back there...
When it comes to downsizing, I'm doing the same thing right now...so if you need any organization pointers, feel free to ask! I've become a pro at it by now
