500 watt halogen work lamp??

will i just burnt the crap out of the poor lil bugger with a 500 watt halogen lamp?

with the research i did i found that it should be aprox. 4 to 6 feet away from the plant. Ok. done.

but is it still going to burn? its a powerful lamp...maybe downgrade to smaller wattage? thoughts??

No its a waste of energy.. your better off with Low wattage cool twisty fluorescence..

yeah it will burn it. it not made to grow plants, actually this type security lamp will kill off vegetation sometimes surrounding the lamp outdoors.
kinda aids in keeping the plants from growing and needing maintenance to remove plants from areas near windows and entrance ways, ect..

clever yet logical.

Seen 150w at about that distance being used as a top up light to extend the day time in summer no burn but plants tended to grow leggy and weak and took on a depleted look.

yeah, its not going to be killing the plants right off, but not helping them much either..
some plants have different photosynthesis and areas of blight will show accordingly I suppose. cannabis being one the plants that is harmed by this lighting wavelength..

its funny. the bulb gave out after 2 days of being on for 16 hours. puhlease!
i returned that shit and got 2 60 watt fluorescent ones..
i dont got a big crop so that'll be good for now i guess...
