I probably should have created this poll along with the thread where I posted the related article, but oh well, here is the article http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/s...t=383638&f=527

Macca and her good points :P indeed,

the reason is at some point they stopped following the political tradition of the demorcatic socialists and adopted free-market tendencies. I am not sure if that was the "New Labour" project or not, but anyway it attracted a lot of middle-class voters and alienated the working class. So sadly it wasn't the working class party any longer. This also shows how a political party fails if it promotes a social theory instead of the working class interest. A theory can be easily used to manipulate, as what benefits the working class today will not tomorrow, because social factors change. Social democracy might seem good today, but once it is established it might turn out terrible for the working class, as we don't know what new social factors it may generate and how the ruling class will use them. So if I have a social democratic party and my goal is to protect the interests of the working class, in case social democracy no longer benefits it, I will have to run and change the name of my party, its constitution and bylaws lol What usually happens is such parties continue promoting that theory ("because, hey, it was a good one, right?"), but now they serve the interests of the ruling class.

There is another one, SWP, Socialist Workers Party of Britain. They seem to follow the political tradition of the social democrats. I like how they reacted to The LIndsey strike (generated by BNP if I am not mistaken, British National Party), they opposed it. "British jobs to british workers" was the slogan of The Lindsey Strike. Such actions are basically racist if you think about it. "Take the jobs away from Italians, or Portugueses etc and give them to Brits, because we are brits and this is Britain, so gtfo and Ethnic Genetic Interest prevails!" <-- is what they mean. The problem is, it is not Italians (or any other ethnic group of immigrants) that got british workers into troubles, but the political system and economy that don't work well. So british employers cannot afford to pay more and british workers cannot afford to work for less. So such kind of strikes are purely reactionary and chauvinist. Which actually causes more damage than helps, because they are not directed to secure more jobs or at a pay raise, but to redivide jobs in favour of British workers. Okay, they won 102 jobs, so what? Can a brit worker have a decent life now? of course not, he will just get that ridiculous payment an italian immigrant was supposed to get. An italian immigrant would take that payment and go to Italy afterward, where he CAN survive, but a british dude? Result: nothing has changed for the better for the working class and 2 categories of the working class dudes (brits and immigrants) are now redivided and turned against each other, which actually benefits the ruling class, because the only way the working class can change social conditions is unity.

Political Parties' Arena is confusing and it annoys the sh. out of me, because what is called democratic serves corporations and what is called labour serves capitalist interests lol no wonder a working class dude freaks out looking at all that, especially when they have a couple of minutes to watch the news and a couple more to think about what they have seen, the rest of time they struggle to make their living. And that's why a new party is needed to unite those dudes, protect them and inform them.

I definately agree tha the USA needs a Workers class party. I want to go into this in more detail, but my head's not working.

Labour may have once upon a time reprosented the working class, but now it's nothing more then an advertisment.
