road trip

I think a super badass road trip is in my redeployment plans. help me plan it/give me ideas/etc.
please? 
i'm thinking of heading up to new york, and then to wisconsin, and then back to texas. with stops in between, obviously. i wanna do a lot of cool stuff, and hang out with cool people.... like some of you guyses

i'm going to learn how to surf on this road trip. january is surf season somewhere, right? 
idaho? aside from potatoes, like you said, what item of interest could idaho possibly hold?

We have great mountains to go hiking/biking in, a river to float, sand dunes, the river of no return, Sun Valley, the first Albertsons grocery store (lol.. it was on a list of tourist sites I saw once), some REALLY good vodka made here, and this little blonde girl that loves when people visit.
The last one is a little known tourist attraction.
January is surf season in Australia, btw.
