High temperatures indoors, heatwave outdoors.

i recently got my hydrohut running with a 600w hortilux HPS bulb, and the temperature is about 85-92F at plant level, and almost 94F at the cooltube exhaust.

the house temperature is also about 75-80F, so there isnt much cooling to be had.

how will plants hold up to these temps? they have a good water supply, and i hope to start a small yeast-powered CO2 jug.

i currently (at a knowledgeable friends advice) have the air being pulled in through the carbon filter then blown through the cooltube INTO the hut. however, would it be more effective to exhaust through the cooltube/filter instead?

I'd say dumping hot air by ehausting it out is more affective then mixing it with cooler air coz by exhausting the hot air it will still drag cooler air in from out side as well and that seems to hold true for my own set up maybe you should run it both ways first and see which is cooler before ya plant it up. Slightly higher temps ok for grown up plants and cuttings once they get going and should make them grow a little faster especial with the extra co2 but not ideal for seeds.

thats too hot. im asuming you have one of them tents u can buy?
just keep in mind that heat rises, so if you can have the exaust vents on the top, then cooler air will naturally be drawn from the bottom. if you have a basement, then put your tent down there.

94F is not hot... 102F is hot and Ive had temp like that ,, Ive also kept plants alive at 20F..

Id get a retro fit Metal Halide, why burn up the HPS on a veg cycle?? srsy, this lamp is more efficient in flower cycle. Its really not doing well burning 18hrs.. Least with me they dont. Now Ive used thime in veg for a few weeks but not a whole cycle.
Getting back to the heat.. Your gonna get some stretching and stuff, I would switch up to CLF when the plants have enough leaves to catch light.. Cut down on heat a bit, only put the MH/HPS on for 9 out of the 18..

well, i reversed the filter setup (air leaves tent through cooltube, then fan, then filter). this has had supstancial use, and my temps are now around 83-88F, but the humitidy has risen to >50%.

i have a 400w MH bulb, but cannot use it until my friend figures out where he left his Lumatek ballast cord (special tip).

this is my first time using a hut, cooltube, (full-size) carbon filter, or high-flow fans, so its a bit of practise to figure it all out.

unfortunately, the current ventilation setup means that the 'dirty" air is blown INTO the can filter, rather then being sucked through the can walls. in order to prevent junk/bugs being pulled in because of this, i plan to stretch dollarama pantyhose over the cooltube intake. will this be enough, or does the can need to PULL air rather then PUSH it?

my filter is almost a 2 foot diameter, and almost 3ft tall, weighing EASILY 30lbs, possibly closer to 50lbs. I cant hang it in the tent, and theres brely any floor space to put it (plus, that would mean drawing the lower air out, rather than the igher, hotter air)

My newly built greenhouse gets too hot during mid-day...around 90ish...and I was wondering if my final results will be as good, (even with 'airy, light-weight buds'), or will they still be decent?

Got plenty of air...coming and going...but the roof is too clear and things heat up.

if 90f is your peak, you may be okay. however, you should try to keep it uner 85F at most.

my grow is now running between 75-84F depending on the temp of the basement. ive added 150w of flourecent light to the 600w HPS to create a better light range for veg.

86f has been the highest .. it might have got warmer, but I dont keep data all the time.

But since I've already had a few days...90-95 for a bit of time...will the quality of the smoke be affected? I know the buds get smaller (airy), but do they still have the 'punch' they should?
At least I do have plenty of air moving thru.

^high heat leads to airy buds? last grow my buds were fairly light, and not dense at all. however, the smoke was still very good quality
