Spending needs to go down. Government spending that is. Next time the government sends what they call "non-essential" government workers home they should make it permanent.

There's nothing left to cut except the military budget, which even if you made the military budget $0 we'd still have a pretty big deficit. Americans have such a tax cut fetish they'd rather live in a third world country then actually pay taxes. Seriously this country is in such desperate need of infrastructure investment that it's never going to get. Like look at the railroad shutdowns in the news today, not only the Long Island railroad, but almost all tracks in the state of New Jersey. Electrical switchboard fires because the equipment being used was from the 1930's and was finally due to be replaced in October.

@ Madcap;
I agree completely. We're obsessed with NOT paying taxes simply because we're only processing the simple idea that we're giving up our money. We're pretty much investing in ourselves by doing so, though, especially if our government actually worked the way we originally intended it to (we ARE the government, etc).

The obsession is to spend beyond means. Ideally government would first collect taxes, and then budget their spending based upon the amount of tax collected, raising or lowering taxes based on projected needs. It's humorous in that it is the wealthiest who promote the class war, which keeps everyones attention on the currency and not on what it is that makes one wealthy. When the dollar becomes absolutely worthless the wealthy will remain the wealthy, while those who were obsessed with the accumulation of dollars will become destitute along with the rest who had none.

I agree that Jesus was dark skinned and maybe black,certainly not the white man depicted in most paintings from the 1000's of years in Europe.He lived in the middle east so he could not be blue eyed and light skinned.I am blue eyed and light skinned and when I get to much sun I burn like a piece of meat..lol..so we know that Jesus was not white,anyway that being said and that being true,Obama is not Jesus,even tho I voted for him,I don't think he's the black jesus or any form of jesus,hes a Chicago politican thats now a DC man who runs the US,and the most powerful man(basicly) in the world.Black Jesus he is not..Peace..

I really dont understand why people are so loath to pay taxes, yet these same people are the first to bitch about services being cut or poor roads, bridges, ect. How else are we supposed to pay for a sound infrastructure, government services, military, NASA, and all the rest of the bullshit the gov. supposed to do?

Same old shit from conservatives. Liberty lobby in 1934 against FDR,trying to stir up the dumb-ass working people who can be counted on to vote against their own interests. SOCIALISM!! SOCIALISM!! went the usual cry.During JFK and Johnsons presidencies it was the John Birch society doing the same thing,financed by right -wing millionaires like the Coors beer family. Same shit now--tea party dolts financed by the likes of RM Scaife stirring up the hate with lies and BS attacks.Who was president when the BIG depression hit? A republican. Who was president in '83 when a recession hit along with the savings and loan debacle? Iran-Contra? Reagan. Who was president when these wars were started and our and the world's economy collapsed? A god damned republican. Anybody on this site or any other that is a working person, is a stupid son of a bitch if they are considering putting republicans back in charge of this country. The right -wing media is already hyping up the "fact" that republicans are going to take back the government. And they probably will because of a bunch of stupid motherfuckers that think the rich give a shit about them. Fuck. Fuck. This country's gone to hell ,been thru hell and may soon return.( and next time ,I'll tell you how I really feel)

Obviously the education system has failed totally. When people are taught what to think instead of how to think, government becomes the only source of answers, presuming questions remain to be allowed.

It's relative to your agenda, from his point of view he is making progress towards the direction he wishes, perhaps not as quickly as desired but much quicker than any others with his agenda have ever done.
