So luckily i Didn't have to work this afternoon. So i shell introduce myself to the forum.

Im 26 and was born and raised in S/W England UK, my wife is Canadian and we moved here (Canada) in 07. In the last few weeks i have received my permeant residence status here. while in my earlier year living in England a very very good friend of mine who passed away was of the rasta-fari faith and took me out of a bad place and saved me from personal destruction.

For many years he helped me and guided me. The reason for my decision on locking my hair is because the last time I saw him before he returned to Jamaica to live out his final days he told me "there is only one last thing for you too, make rasta happy, and thats to lock that hair up, for how will Jah ever lift you to the heavens with nothing to hold onto" So I honor him, and his teaches to me with this. And ultimately it has made me feel better, and has strengthened my ongoing faith and love for the eternal and never ending Jah.

On a different note, I write political papers, I love my dog my wife and 2 children. I am going to be going back to school to take a degree in political science. I am comfortable in calling myself rasta-fari even know many people may call me different. My goals in life, is to work for the UN.

"we are all free, from human to grass, we just have to allow ourselves to be"

that's a strong statement! I love how you seem to eb so confident and grateful about your faith.

"there is only one last thing for you too, make rasta happy, and thats to lock that hair up, for how will Jah ever lift you to the heavens with nothing to hold onto" funny and true at the same time.

"never forget who you are, you are all family, we are one religion, the religion of man"

serve humanity, serve the earth, serve the sky, its the only thing I can think of to do with my life.

i'm studying plitical science sociology and anthropology at a honours college for liberla arts in the netherlands, got them locks too. i'm spiritual and philosophocal minded, but i would never call myself to be part of a particular faith though i might have a lot in common with it, because I know I could just as easily be part of something else.

good luck with the path you've chosen man.

one love!
