"Fascism should more appropriately be call 'Corporatism', for it is the the marriage of the absolute power of Corporation and State."
the above quote is taken from a short book entitled: "the doctrine of fascism," by benito mussolini. this short book is the bible of fascism. in this book mussolini gives the basic ground work that is fascism.
READ THIS 72 PAGE BOOK! then, prove to me, that i am wrong, in claiming that bush and his Corporate friends, are trying to make a power play, to bring the u.s.a. into fascism with this, so called no strings attached "bailout."

I haven't read this book but I do believe the US is fast becoming fascist. It suprises me that so many people confuse this bailout with socialism. They are flip sides of the coin, 180 degrees apart.

Well it is because the move will have upset hardcore capitalists as well, they see this bail out as the state intervening in the market (a traditionally socialist action in a Planned Economy).
I would call this current move neither capitalist nor socialist, but statist.
The powerful using their power to protect their own interests.
Essentially, Fascism

B.E., in my opinion, Statism is the same as Socialism. Socialism and Capitalism are cut from the same cloth. One can't survive w/o the other.
Black cat, Where can I get this book? I'd be very interested in reading it.

I think Bakunin or Emma Goldman might disagree on socialism and statism being synonymous .
Voluntary socialism does not require a state.

woodsman, try your public libaray first, that is the cheapest way to get it. if they don't have it, ask them about inter-library loan. if you can't get it that way, try amazon.com and/or barnsandnoble.com; one of those should work.

It's an eBook, but just to note I've not downloaded it or anything else from this site, so make sure AV database is up to date, but Google shows a number of other sources. The Gutenberg project not being one of them ( I love that site)
