(on a side note)
First of all, you are wrong, it is not "usually" used as a sleep-aid. Please do not post information that is false. Please, stay out of anything related to these forums, because you honestly have NO knowledge whatsoever. Furthermore, I urge you to never comment on anyone elses style of music. Not only is it ignorant, and makes you look more like a jackass then you already do yourself, it's just a sad attempt for attention.
Also, it's really sad you had to not only hi-jack a thread with some pointless picture, you had to go as far as PMing me a whiny bitchy thing about your music being SOOOO much better? Wow, you are officially the lamest person on hipforums. That is certainly a feat.
have u ever herd of IDM? when you can understand and appreciate that... you actually might scrape the surface of intellectual music that does more that repeat every 8 or 16 count.
Seriously, to say that trance music isn't appreciated if one has less than a 130 IQ demonstrates your lack of understanding of rhythm and music as a whole. Trance to IDM is like Punk Rock to the Dead. Totally different levels of understanding.
This is what was in my inbox....
First of all, you can't even spell right. Second of all, you must not understand rhythm if you think IDM has it.
IDM! That is pure irony for an unintelligent human being to listen to something called "intelligent dance music." It's sad that a genre has to label itself such, as well.
Good luck in life, you have already failed at it so far though, so there probably isn't much hope for you!
Here is some comments that some "IDM" artists have commented about your so called intelligent dance music:
In a September 1997 interview, Aphex Twin commented on the 'Intelligent Dance Music' label:
I just think it's really funny to have terms like that. It's basically saying 'this is intelligent and everything else is stupid.' It's really nasty to everyone else's music. (laughs) It makes me laugh, things like that. I don't use names. I just say that I like something or I don't.
Aphex Twin's Rephlex records official overarching genre name is Braindance, of which Dave Segal of Stylus Magazine asked whether it was a "snide dig at IDM’s mockworthy Intelligent Dance Music tag?" British artist Mike Paradinas (µ-Ziq) has bluntly said:
No one uses or used it in UK. Only Americans ever used the term. It was invented by Alan Parry who set up the IDM mailing list.
Kid 606 has said,
I hate IDM and its elitist champions. It makes the music sound so much more than it actually is. It's a label invented by PR companies who need catchphrases. I like sounds, but hate what people attach to sounds.
Chris Jeffs (Cylob) said, "Also, anyone who applies the term IDM to my music deserves to be shot." Thaddeus Hermann of City Centre Offices has said
Nowadays, I do not like the sound of the term. Whenever someone mentions it, or uses it to describe their own music, I immediately become skeptical, expecting weak and boring tracks.”
Way to go, but please, next time you try attacking my music taste, at least have something decent enough to compare it to. It's really sad that you got offended by signature too, it shows just how pathetic you really are.
This is what you tried to tell me is better then trance? Do people really actually consider this music? It sounds like an ape humming into a microphone while a 3 year old plays one of those pre-made songs and then bashes the keyboard to add extra notes in while the sub track plays....
Also, here is something to show you what Ativan is "usually" prescribed for, since you posted horrible, false information. We know it was only an attempt to whine about how your style of music (you even pmed me to cry about it) but here is some information so you don't look like such a funboy next time:
Lorazepam (also known by its brand name Ativan or Temesta) is a benzodiazepine drug with short to medium duration of action. It has all five intrinsic benzodiazepine effects: anxiolytic, sedative/hypnotic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant, to different extents. It is a powerful anxiolytic and since its introduction in 1971, lorazepam's principal use has been in treating the symptom of anxiety. It is a unique benzodiazepine insofar as it has also found use as an adjunct antiemetic in chemotherapy. Among benzodiazepines, lorazepam has a relatively high addictive potential.
Therefore, I must say, your avatar sure does suit you well. Please do not attempt to reply, you will only make yourself look more and more like your avatar.
Intelligent dance music...haha. Thank you for the laugh tonight, it was a slow and boring night until you came along!
Also here is some more "Intelligent dance music" for ya guys, if you thought maybe the first one was just a fluke. This is actually what this guy is telling me is real music, and has rhythm. Trance actually has thought, emotion, and skill involved. This is just a bunch of random sounds you could make in a bathroom.
Now compare this to something that actually has thought, feeling, rhythm, emotion, and A BEAT:
