Default Best alcohol to take?

I'm going to WOMAD next week and we foolishly forgot to take any alcohol last year so we ended up spending a fortune on booze at the bars

But i can't decide what to take this year. I'm going on the train so weight is an issue although my tent is going in the car so i won't be too weighed down.

I usually drink beer but i would need so much and it's too heavy. So i considered Southern Comfort or something similar but if there's a no glass rule i can't image it's too tasty drank out a water bottle.

What do you people take to festivals?

We usually take 3 cases of beer and a gallon of whiskey. I don't know what its like to have to take the train but thats usually more than enough to last us the 3 or 4 days of a festival. Why don't you figure out if they've got a no glass rule or maybe even a no outside beverages rule, then you'd have to be really sneaky. if they don't allow glass I know you can find good whiskey in smaller portions that come in plastic containers. You'll just need to take a handful of the smaller containers.

Put spirits in plastic bottles, there was a no spirits rule at the festy I went to last week and that's what everyone did. Also take as much beer as you can carry then the wine box as Kat suggested.

rum definitely suits festivals well
vodka/gin looks less suspicious in a water bottle if you get checked though.

If whiskey is your thing, Lipton Ice Tea bottles work pretty well as they're very similar in colour...

Yeh wine boxes are good, you can just take the bag inside which is even easier. I try to avoid drinking lager etc when at a fest as it makes you need the loo more... best to avoid the loos if poss

I bought a litre of rum, a litre of vodka and a litre of apple sours, it's not all for me There's a non-official no glass rule apparently but you can take as much booze as you want to the camp and the arena
