im sat here shaking with anger anger that my daughter dosnt have a future no one does and its starting to get to me in a big way im a hippy thats why im a member of this site but i feel im been driven to violence. i would never fight in a war but im starting to think that only bloodshed can save us now. there are way to many greedy bastards out there who will not stop raping this planet and all life on it that includes you and even me how much longer are we all gonna sit around and do nothing ive done little bits i dont use saop that contains palm oil i recycle i dont own a car and never will. but i still buy shit i dont need all of us here do and it needs to stop. of course there are those more responsible than others and these are the ones i feel need stoping the goverments of this world will not act as long as they are linning there pockets there way more botherd about the economy than the enviroment i feel we must act now and not protests they have been proven to do nothing. let me ask a questioin would you have stood against hitler. i would have he was an evil man but there are people on this planet doing worse than him and there are no armies to stop them. in fact there are armies doing there bidding i dont know how to stop these people but i think we all need to think about it what would you be prepared to do to save this planet for your children soldiers speak of defending the soil but they only care for there nations i care nothing for there nations and everything for the soil
i used to end ever post on this site and others with "remember to make love and peace not hate and war" but i dont feel i can anymore when im filled with hatred at those who feel money is more important than this our green planet and the more i think about it the more i think war is the answer they wont stop untill some one stops them

I can't help you with the frustration behind the environment. Humaninty has never given a damn about the environment. Most of what we know about pre-human behaviour comes from their garbage dumps. We are a messy species that has gotten clever enough that our messiness is dangerous.

But I also interpret your post that some of your angst comes from your inclination to violence. "Those filthy bastards have made me so mad, I want to kill them. Damn them for making me a bad person." or something like that.

In the long run, non-violence is not an option. It is the only technique that works for long term change. Killing the "greedy bastards" won't work as long as the people who replace them (they do serve a function, moving nessesary stuff from here to there), the people who replace them share their attitudes. Consider the populist "progressive" solution to peak oil, "burn renewable biofuel as you drive everywhere in your own car." That's not a solution. "Stop driving so much" is an attitude that has to be part of the solution.

Violence won't get us where we need to go. (Whose death would stop people from commutting in their own cars every day? Whose death would put McDonalds or Walmart out of buisness?)

You mentioned Hitler. Yes, a well placed bullet might have stopped a lot of suffering, but it wouldn't have made the Jews any more loved. That bullet wouldn't have given the German people the vision needed to avoid WWII. That bullet would not have averted WWII, the Depression, France's inflexability about reparations,.... would have lead Germany's other leaders to a different war.

Take heart, the world ending crisis my generation faced (nuclear war) has not been eliminated, but its not as likely as it once was and maybe... We don't need to solve all the worlds ecological problems, just enough of them to get us to tommorow (then do it again)

its going to take another world war, the revolution, or aliens for something to change. people dont just change willingly, they have to be forced into it. people wont start caring about renewable energy until the last drop of oil is burned up and we are left with nothing.

The current system is fucked. This is what happens in a materialistic/consumerist culture. There's no incentive to preserve something for later when you could cash in on it now. The nature of capitalism is competition. This incessant competition is what makes it so efficient. But at what cost? They're cutting down our forests so that they can flood the markets with cheap furniture. They're stealing people's lives at the price of $6 an hour. All in the name of efficiency and keeping competitive. They could increase wages, but why would they? Human happiness doesn't bring profit.

And the people in charge are the ones who have bought in the most. In a system where people compete for power and the wealth that comes with it, the ones who are the most ruthless in the pursuit of it are the ones who end up with the most, of course. "The revolution will not be televised." This isn't something that can be accomplished through protest.

Revolution. Get pissed off. Be angry. Convince others. Why be content spending your life living in something you hate?

I understand your feelings. They are mine too. The difference is, I think there is no solution. No one does anything to stop this because there is no way out. No one is willing to give up his filthy profit. I'm sorry but it's just this bad. But since I have no sons or daughters this does not upset me as much as you. Unless 4/5 of the mankind are wiped out by sword , plague, starvation or cataclysms and pretty soon too, we are doomed as a species. I think that our first issue is overpopulation. btw i also think that one of the greatest enemies of mankind is the catholic church that criminally carries on its crazy campaign against condoms etc. in the name of gods command to fill the earth. well, it's filled with greedy, selfish, stupid humans.

We could be 500 millions of women and men and be by ourselves the wise aliens who saved the planet earth, in a world that's enough for everybody. Instead we infest our home by the billions and we are just a big bunch of stupid malignant revolting animals , me first, that don't deserve but destruction. Me first, of course.

wow i havent heard so much truth in one post before. what some/people have to do is just arange a very big group and slowly plan a takeover. there doesnt have to be alot of people either. just enough to get some attention and people from everywere will join. on this site alone we could get at least 500 people
