Any other "in between" hippies out there?
So i've been on this forum for a couple of weeks now and i must say that, over all, i have really been enjoying it. What a powerful resource for people to come together!
Having grown up in the 70's and 80's i find my self in a group of "in between" hippies. not quite old enough to remember the 1st woodstock festival but old enough be disgusted about the 2nd one. old enough to have caught a Dead show ('87)but too young for the good touring days. not quite old enough to completely relate to the "old hippes" but too old to completely relate to the "neo-hippies" in their teens and 20's. A product of the 60's in the information age.
is there anyone out there who can relate to what i'm saying? is there already a group for the 70's 80's generation of hippies somewhere on this forum? if not it would be a good group to start up.
Much love & peace

I'm a product of 1966..... wasn't raised by hippies but really want to know about it now. I'm with you - which am I??
...Most neo-hippies could be my kids. Still, I'm not a seasoned hippie with experience. I haven't even done my first "trip" yet...... I'm just a baby!

exactly! I was starting to wonder if I was the only "middle generation hippie" out there. Well, welcome, Dawn, and thanks for the reply.

Yo....right here. born in '78, and 25 too late....right in the awkward middle ground, in a place so dead that even the stiffs in the local graveyard commute to brighter morgues.

Rest your minds young Hippies, there are no inbetween Hippies, you are either a hippie or your not.. you can agree to the hippie way and not be a hippie.. if you feel like one and have the same wisdoms as us and you believe yourself to be of hippie nature then you are hippie.. no need to question, be strong in your faith, be sure of your Being. If it comes natural then it is real. If you yearn for The Way, if you strive for it to be thata way, then that is what it is and you have no need to question it. you just are.. all living things have this quaility about them.. some don't realize it in time, they let it pass by them.. some reach out and embrace it and bring it into them, their Being, resonates with it and thrives and fills you with hope and love and being apart of life and Creation.. all those things and a loving heart and a willing Spirit is all you need, it's all that is real that you can hang on to.
If it fills you to the brim then it is yours to keep and hold. It is the Sprit walking/talking inside you, beconing you to release your burdens and be free, in love and life, to gather and celabrate life and all we have inside us that we can relay on as truth.
If you feel it deep down in your bones and you are sure of what you want out of life, The Way, then go for it, embrace it, excel in it and be Blessed, be HIPPIE!!

SH, thanks for the kind words, that really helps...well, at least me. People talk about nobody needs anyone other but themselves, but....acceptance means a lot to some of us who've had to 'make do' on our own for so long...
it's like being lost in the woods and coming out into a camp and going 'holy hell!, there's other people!' and the first thing someone does is walk up, hand you a damp washcloth and says 'dude..mud on your face, clean up..dinner's in a half hour'
not being treated like something green with tentacles that crawled out of a crashed spaceship is a plus, you know?

Someone might be able to force themselves to forget what they are, but they can't ever 'un-be' it...It's the lesson life's handed me, and why I'm here...with the people that make sense.

you never forget, you simply hide it for a while, but in the stillness of the soul all truths are known and all lies are revieled.. but when the Light Shines there is no more darkness, there is nothing to fear, we are here, we will walk with you in The Light.
