Moving On
The blinding light of white
Has come once again
Maybe this time to stay
Patches of concrete and green trees still aching to be seen
The sun far away
And the clouds close
The air so cold
It reminds us that we're alive
It's funny how we are
People I mean
It's time to remove the metal from my face
To grow up
Grow out
It's always said that teenagers get piercings to attract attention
I always got them to keep people from looking too closely
Maybe it's time to stop hiding
Winter is a bitter sweet season
It's the end of so much
But when you're ready to face those endings
It's nothing more than freeing

"Autumn leaves under frozen souls, Hungry hands turning soft and old,
My hero crying as we stood out there in the cold, Like these autumn
leaves I don't have nothing to hold. Handsome smiles wearing
handsome shoes, Too young to say, though I swear he knew, And I
hear him singing while he sits there in his chair, While these autumn
leaves float around everywhere."
