A friend of mine started a website a while back called "I Want To Make It" (
http://www.iwanttomakeit.com), and I'm trying to help round up some interest in the site.
It would be too simple to say the site is for posting help wanted notices and resumes. For the help wanted postings, unlike most other places, posting a job is free. People can post a free listing for any kind of project they want complete, big or small. I've seen listings for something as small as designing a logo, up to larger programming assignments. If you need help with a website, organizing an event, or designing a custom pair of high tops, you can post your project.
As for the resumes... They have what are called "resume advertisements". Unlike a standard resume, listing as many accomplishments as you can into a page or two, the resume advertisement helps focus on a professional's abilities and can provides samples of their work. It shows, "This is what I do, and here is my proof." It's almost like the opposite of the help wanted ad, in that it defines the professional and what job they can do, instead of the ad looking to fill that position.
Then, the site acts as a moderator between those seeking help on a project and professionals seeking work. Think of it as a mini human resources department. Professionals can bid on the projects listed, or project owners can express interest towards the professionals. Since the site acts as a moderator, either party can choose to ignore or accept working with the other.
I think it is a very clever site. I have posted a couple entries on the site. I encourage you to check out the site and maybe post a listing or two.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
