stratera

im going to the doctors this week to be diagnosed with add*i have it i know i do i portray all the symptons but ive never thought about getting treated, and my psychyatrist(sp?) said that i will probably get prescribed stratera, because adderal is abused etc, ive heard nothing but bad thigns about startera, that it doesnt work and it takes weeks for it to kick in and its not as good as aderall, is there anyway i could convince the docotr to prescribe me adderal, i dont wanna abuse it i just heard that aderal is betetr thenm stratera, so how could i tell my docotr that i want aderal withou8t sounding liek iw anna abuse it, cause i dont i just want the best product around..

Take your mother with you. Have her dress nicely, wear conservative makeup, and call the doctor "sir" (or ma'am, if that is the case.) I am NOT kidding. Have her describe your symptoms, and talk about the alternatives. Don't have her reject the Strat right away, have her do some research and suggest that Adderall might be a better med for you, based on research.

One of my kids is on it. We have much better luck with a NEUROLOGIST at a University teaching hospital than a pediatrician at a dinky community hospital. Our ped acted like there was a hovering danger of the entire family becoming raving speed addicts because we had this med in the house. PARANOID.

Our neurologst thinks otherwise. He has said there are a lot more dangerous and addictive drugs than Adderall and in his opinion it is the best drug for most kids for ADD.

thjx fo rinfo, ya i guess ill be polite ma'am sir etc but the thing is all the doctor is gunna see is a 15 year old male who looks like he mite be a drug addict looking for a cheap high, even though that is not the case and i really do have add and need meds, but o well thx for the advice

Well cat, if you live in the South, go in there and talk about how you're having a tough time concentrating in class, how you start something and can't remember what the hell you were doing, how you have to really try hard to pay attention and quit drawing in class, and how much you'd really rather be out fishing than sitting there learning some useless bullshit that isn't really going to help you prepare for your career later in life.

Trust me man, this works with even the most scrutinous doctors. How do I know? I've pulled the same act with three different guys. Watch the Blue Collar Comedy tour and write down a joke or two or memorize them if you can. Look to the men on there like Larry the Cable Guy for fashion tips. Study their behavior and act like a true Southern Good Ol' Boy. A lot of doctors are typically wealthy men from wealthy backgrounds who love nothing like a good ol' Southern cat who loves his country music and fishin'. That's all I talk about when I see my doctor... that and baseball since he actually went to my college and played baseball here. I don't even watch baseball... or any sports, but before I go to see him I get the stats from a friend so I can keep up with him. Shit like that is what makes the difference. Don't worry about selling out kid, do what you gotta do! I'm actually ADD as hell, but I know that adderal is the best thing out there for me. If they saw how I typically act/dress there is no way I'd get what I need. I went to the doctor in Rome for a refill on my Adderall and she just gave me stratera. I swallowed it for a few weeks, and then one day I figured I'd snort one after I found out it did nothing to me at all except make me feel sick and fatigued. Man... DO NOT SNORT that shit! I was in physical pain for hours that day and I completely dried out my nose and my naseopharynx. It sucked ass and it hurt like hell. Just imagine snorting clorox but in powder form and then add in some shards of metal and wasabi. That was the feeling I got along with NO buzz and no increased effects. I just got really nauseated and depressed. I had to go to work too... That was a bad experience. Get adderall. It's good.
