Default St Issa and the Linking of Religions

This site I found very intersting because it suggests a link between Christianity and Vaisnavism and possible most religions out there...its a long page, and its very interesting...but please view it with an open mind...

many if not all religions claim links to the bible. ive heard it quoted in one breath to prove a point and cursed in the next saying something they dont like. you have to be very careful when you study philosophyand religion. its best to view them with a critical mind, and to not start believing what you read until long after youve read it . . a couple of times

Yes I understand what you are saying, but I do truly believe that all religions are fundimentally the same. The only differences are those in the little things that come about due to location, dogma, culture... It doesn't seam quite right that God could only choose to lead/love one group and if you didn't follow that group, forget it...for some reason that just doesn't seam right...

it is true that god is everywhere, and when ever two or more meet, he's there to guide there steps. but its also true that the world and men are corrupt, so its hard to make heads or tails of it.

thanks save our garden's beauty...i have a thread going in the christian forums called krishna and christ and i'm gonna post this there when i get a chance...i'm busy at work now in some big stock trades so when it settles down, i'll get to it

while i think that sight raises some excellent points and evidence, i do think linking the triangular markings on jesus' head as being tilaka, a vaisnava marking and his therefore his being part of a vaisnavic lineage to be spurious logic...especially so since other information at that site links him to a buddhist lamasery or vanares, a monist vedantic hotspot...both buddhist and monist vedantis also put similar markings on one's body...i think the author is grasping at straws although it is possible but the evidence is scant...but in spirit, one can consider him a vaisnava in his teachings and practice...and too, not much difference imo between all the world's great spiritual teachings

I know what you mean by the markings...I was more interested in the St. Issa thing...and also the wrong translations of the Bible...

i personally feel that the similarities between these 2 religions is but just one of many different similarities that show how ALL monotheistic religions were derived out of different interpretations of and even more ancient religion....im am far from an expert on the matter but i look at everything with an open mind, and my mind tells me that all religions have their similarities, and all can be interpreted severla different ways, and all have the same basic message, just stated in different ways....to me this shows how religion has evolved with people and each group's interpretation of sumthin from back before civilization, hence the reason that religions are sooo regional, with the exception of christianity, which was actually forced on the people of europe when the roman empire converted to christianity........just my thought tho
