Lost and Confused

ok ill get right to the point.. i have a friend sue whom ive known for about 5 years now.. she is a really great person and ive wanted to go out with her for the longest time.. but here is the problem.. she has a boyfriend of 2 years who treats her like absolute shit.. He never calls her.. never sees her.. and the last time they were suppose to go on a date he blew her off.. her and i share the same group of close friends.. everyone i know has been trying to tell her to lose this asshole and find someone better (meaning me).. now here comes the hard part.. she has some deep seeded trust issues with guys.. in my opinion she was abused by someone close to her.. my sister was.. ive seen it before.. but how do i get her to lose this guy she views as her security blanket and go out with me.. someone who actually cares for her and will be there for her.. no matter what

You can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to. If she's with this guy, there's probably a reason. You're an outsider looking in and she may have many reasons to stay with her boyfriend, especially if she's been with him for two years! The best thing you can do is stay supportive and let her make her own decisions. If this guy really is scum, she'll figure it out eventually, and probably come crying to you. If you push and pressure her to leave him, she'll never want to be with you.
