Default Cirrhosis's Lyrics Thread

I write frequently, and so I thought it best to create my own thread instead of crowding up this forum with song after song. This thread is for my pieces and for feedback on my pieces only, so please don't think I'm asking for your lyrics here. The first installment is titled "Ode to the Opiate".

Ode to the Opiate

The jest of age is played
On ourselves, By ourselves
For ourselves to see
We’re not all
We could be
Tonight

The timeless lottery
Pacifying just rewards
Is our just mistake
Can we be
Anything
Tonight

We are lost boys
Lost in perfect snow
As we count each flake
That falls to scorn us

Crystal-clear memories
Confused with our daydreams
Our hurried nightmare
How can we be
All we can be
Tonight

We are lost boys
Lost in perfect snow
And we count each flake
That falls inside us

Redeemed in our sleep
Jacked up and ablaze
We are tireless
Living without sight
Marching forward
To nothing at all

We are lost boys
Lost in perfect snow
Found among the laughter
Of our idle sorrow

Default The Hallowed Indecency of One

I leave this uncertain world
In star-lit harmony, where
Desperate pleas have fallen
From the tongues of destiny
I can't press on, beyond
This neglected day-dream
And on golden horizon
I'll break your sleep

In your narrow light
Under moons of time
I heard the whisper of
The lingering dead
For once in my life
I know I'm not lost
In a land of memory

Distorted angels claim
Violence is the way
Of God's true soul
In fleeting sufferage
And what hearts are
Honest to themselves?
What words can be held
In this uncertain world?
