Opiates and Hearbeat?

I've just blown 30mg of roxycodone and I feel like a king. However, my heartbeat is really high (at LEAST 150bpm). This happened last time I did opiates as well. Is this normal? I understand opiates are supposed to be depressants, not stimulants at all. By the way, if you are wondering...no im not OD'ing. I previously did 30mg after drinking a whole bottle of wine so i doubt taking the same amount without any alchohol would cause me to OD. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

opiates won't speed up your heart rate, you are just phsycing yourself out.

No, most people will have a lower heart rate while taking opiates. You may be having a "paradoxical reaction" where a drug does the opposite of what it does normally. This can be an indication that you may be too sensitive to the drug, and may not want to use it. Some people do get energized by opiates, but a heart rate that high is troubling.

I doubt I have a "paradoxical reaction" to opiates because I become very sedated and I hate any noise and any light while on opiates. I have a quite normal reaction to opiates except for the heartbeat thing (which sometimes reaches speeds over 150bpm).

Paradoxical reactions can be very selective. You could become sedated and still have a troubling high heart rate. At any rate, what you were experiencing was not normal. I would try a lower dose next time, and if you still have the heart rate acceleration, stay away from this stuff.
