I am sick and fuckin tired of this.

I am amazed by the the incredible prejudice that i have seen not only on these forums, but virtually everywhere i go. What I am reffering to is the puritanical attitute expressed towards opiate users. People who partake in various other drugs ( Marijuana, Alcohol, etc.) seem to have no objections to their drugs of choice, but take a harsh, condescending and often insulting view of narcotic users and addicts; ( and contrary to popular belief, the two are NOT one in the same.). It amazes me that in a society where racisim and basically every other for of prejudice are not accepted, prejudice and stereotyping of these people is still not only widely accepted, but often encouraged.
We narcotics users face what is truly one of the last frontiers of civil rights in America. I just wish those who criticize would at the very least try to understand us befor making their judgements.
I of course am not accusing every person on this forum or indeed anywhere else. For the most part hipforums have proivided a supportive and very accepting enviornment. I call out to the minority. Those who choose to make unfair judjments towards people they know ABSOLUTEY NOTHING about.

Ummm....yeah, because you of all people deserve the same sympathy as black people. I mean, nevermind the fact that opium users chose their actions and black people can't help the way they are...

Sorry for the honesty, it's just a little hard for me to pity you when my uncle is a heroin user who steals from my grandparents. I don't judge people by the way they look, or by things out of their control. I judge them by their actions.You chose the actions, you chose the consequences. People judging you just happens to be one of the consequences. Whether or not it's right is a matter of opinion, and is irrelavent to the reality of the situation. Deal with it.

I am not going to try to say that it isn't a stupid choice to become addicted to habit-forming drugs. It is. I have no problem with anyone saying so , because it is the truth. But i do have a major problem with someone completey condemning a person as a human being based purely on that choice.

ok... I have no problem with "opiates" as you say... I smoked opium for a time and loved it. But when you start shoving shit in your vein cause you need the rush or fix thats a fucking problem. Methadone is not much better. It was the "answer" to heroin and turned out to be more addicting, but you just didnt need the spike anymore. I'm sorry if I think poorly of a drug that drains and kills people. I have never met a casual heroin user. I've met a lot of addicts and people who tried it once and puked till they cried. So get down to the heart of it. Your pissed because people here don't like H. I hate the drug for personal reasons as seeing a dead 16 year old in a bathtub is not the kinda thing that turns you onto that shit. H drains and it kills. If you can shoot up and not go crazy for a fix (this includes in all situations... stressful ones arent excuses for wanting a hit) then more power to you. Let me just clarify for you:

I am a regular opium user, i grow my own poppies, so i cannot criticize the use of any related drug. Its just that heroin in particular scares the hell out of me, but that's my problem. If people want to use heroin it is their choice!

i use opiates, so i would be a victim of the 'opiate opression'...but completely opposite as far as blacks go...because when i see a black person, i ASSUME hes up to know good until he proves himself...if i meet him and find out hes not just like every negative black person, then great...but to me...black people are 'guilty until proven innocent'...so i guess i could understand people looking at me as an 'addict' until they meet me and find out what im all about
