How long does it take

I'm growi ng some poppies how long does it take before you can harvest? There about 5 weeks old, how long will it be.

My poppies took around 4 months from putting the seed in the ground, to being able to lance the pods. I planted them mid february and ive been getting flowers now for about 2 weeks. There are factors like temperature and rain fall to take into consideration. Your poppies out in california have a better environment than mine here in cold, wet ole Britain. So in theory, they should grow quicker than mine. Good luck anyway!
