Default Van Der Graaf Generator

Is there some fans of Van Der Graaf Generator and Peter Hammill?

What can I say about VDGG?
Pure brilliance. I can't wait to complete my collection of their works.

Will you be going to any of their shows this fall?

I have that album with 'A Plague of the Lighthouse Keepers' on it.. I was pretty underwhelmed.. it seemed pretty dull and dry like ELP, with the theatricality of Genesis thrown in except not in a tasteful way. Do they have any better albums?

Yo, check this out: black guys drive a car like this.
[Leans back, as though his elbow were on the windowsill]
Do, do, ch. Do-be-do, do-be-do-be-do.
Yeah, but white guys, see, they drive a car like this.
[Hunches forward, talks nasally]
Dee-da-dee, a-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da-dee.

[Audience howls with laughter]
Homer: Ah ha ha, it's true, it's true! We're so lame!

Good taste, Mistress I'll go to some VDGG's show if they come in Bulgaria.
But it's almost imposible Peter Hammil to come here

Well I like VDGG in the same way they sounds in "Pawn Hearts". But you know - everyone has personal preferences. For me Van Der Graaf is one from the most important and interesting noncomersial progresive bands.

It's either you love them or you don't. I can see why a lot of people can't get into them, they're quite complex IMO. My first introduction was Aerosol Grey Machine and I was warned that Peter Hammill's vocals are somewhat annoying.

I have yet to hear anything annoying about his vocals and I probably never will.

VDGG are one of those bands that I loved right from the first time I heard them. Pawn Hearts is a masterpiece. I even love Quiet Zone/Pleasure Dome.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but definitely mine.

Brilliantly Underrrated.Start with 'Aerosol Greay Machine' end with 'Pawn Hearts'.Don't ever be tempted past that.Have a good cuppa tea & then go for Peter Hammill's 'Foolsmate & 'Chamelion In The Shadow Of The Night'....Thats yer lot....If your getting itchy feet push the boat out for the lost years LP 'Time Vaults'...

Bit of Advise get yourself the USA or Canadian 'Pawn Hearts' with George Martins little ditty on.I think though that the new Re-mastered version of the CD has it already.
