Well I've learned that the prices for weed in my area are pathetic so I've decided to grow my own maybe in an apartment or something with a roof, sometime in the future. ($110+ qt. for some dank
)
Here's the plan:
Closet Grow Op
Balance: $800
Space: 5x4x8
Guidelines:
10,000 lumens per plant
6.5-7 pH / 70-80 ‘F
SCRoG (for yield)
Cycles:
Germ & Seed stage
– 2-3 weeks
Vegetation stage (21/3 ~ 600w MH)
-Top plants @ 4-6 node --> turn to clones
-Can take clones @ 5th week (5-10 days to root)
-Begin nutrients @ 6th week – More N
– Barney’s LSD = 6-8 weeks / Kali Mist = 7+ weeks
Flowering stage (12/12 ~ 400w HPS)
-Begin to gradually add more P, K / Less N
– Barney’s LSD = 9+ weeks / Kali Mist = 10-11 weeks
Drying stage
- Hope to get about 3+ oz per plant
Set up (5x4x8 Closet):
-4 Plants + Seeds
($400) Lights, Housing & Ballast – 400w HPS/400w MH
($50+) Soil – Regular Soil / FF Ocean Forest Soil + Perlite (30%)
($25+) Ventilation – 200+ CFM fan/ Another if needed
($150) Seeds – Barney’s LSD, Kali Mist (Critical Seeds)
($30) Nutrients – Veg. & Flower NPK nutes
($60+) Extras – Screen, PH Meter,Thermometer, mylar etc

Some questions I have are:
- What is a reasonable price to pay for a full light system (400HPS/MH)? I was looking around and it seems like $400 is around the amount.

-Do the other prices look reasonable?
- Would these four plants have too much of an odor to contain in the grow room if I open the door a couple or so times? Could I just buy some cheap odor absorbers?
- For the SCRoG screen I thought of getting an old square foldout table and cut the middle, where I can attach the screen, would this be viable?
- What is the price range to light these bulbs add up to, does it stand out a lot using MH bulbs?

Now even though this will be my first official grow I want to be able to grow my own, smoke my own, sell to regain what I spent and maybe make a little bit extra for college.
I also might take a couple of clones, root them, put under some CFL's and begin to flower in a separate room to get some early buds.
But of course these are
