any good ideas fam??
Soaringeagle finally moved out here with me into a nice log cabin in the woods, tried to turn on the electricity and they told us it would be 2000 bucks to get the breaker box fixed, We had no idea there was anything wrong with it, but now we're living in the cabin with no power and freezing our asses off, went to the salbation army to see if any charities might help, but no luck,, Anyone have any other ideas on how to get an electrician cheaper, Its really close to winter and with soaringeagles handicap its getting difficult to handle for us, we figured the family was the best place to turn for ideas,,, Luvin you

Wish I knew more about what you ask.I have seen used breaker boxes at salvage yards ,so you might check that out.I'm sure someone will give you a hand, even if you have to pay them on a payment basis.

Seems you could buy a new one cheaper ... then, there is the electrician trip to deal with ... several states require both a permit and electrician involvement.
For what you were quoted, I would consider investing in a wood stove, solar cell, and a couple of truck batteries ...
No more bills ...

yeah,, wish i coul get the solar thing goin, but for now i gotta fix the wiring and all that,, but we did find out that a permit is involved,, we need a city permit after the electrician fixes junk, but the electrician will take care of that. What a damn trip this is. Apparently if you choose not to pay your bills there's a milion and one charities that will pay them for you, but if an emergency situation like this comes up then theres o one to help out here. Doesnt make any sense. We figurd a the least there would be aplace that would help soaringeagle with it being as he's handicapped and needs help,, what a load of crap.

I heard that ...
I'm sorry to hear you haven't had much luck and hope things work out sooner than later ... still, it is a roof, many of our kin haven't that much ...
For instance:
I'm grateful for the roof being provided by Zen Coyote and Marti Littlewing while I go through the initial stages of my healing from the negative vehicle interaction I experienced this past June.
Counting my blessings ...

I dont know anyone up there, besides S.E. A friend of mine sd to talk to every church pastor in your area.I will write to SE on the other site.Maybe, just maybe, when my friend is headed up that way,he might take time to help.I have to see exactly where ya'll are, he is goin to see his family in ok city, gettin some surgery done. Try to remember the universe will take care somehow someway. Faith baby! I'll get back to you one way or other.

I heat our house with a wood stove. We have a program called Area 5. I think its a city or state program for low income people that helps pay electric, propane and oil heating bills and they help those that heat with wood. If you have a wood stove find out how to get free wood.

wood stove is definetly a great idea. The guy that drove S.E from the wyoming gathering found us online and is coming out of his way to fix the electrical stuff for us!!! Hopefully we'll have it on in a week or so. And We're grateful as hell that we have a roof at least, especially after how cold it got last night. Any Family passing thru should stop by and see us sometime, We're gonna be throwing some potlucks and drum circles soon. Lovin You
