Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's favorite fantasy book is. I know there is a thread similar to this asking favorite author or series, but I'll just keep it simple and ask your single favorite fantasy book you've ever read. Maybe this will help everyone, myself included, with coming up with future books to read as well. I'll start with mine

Lud in the Mist by Hope Mirrlees

Have a pleasant day everyone!

This is a hard one, but I'll go with: 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss.

Great book, have you read the sequel yet? Haven't had the time myself, I've been inundated with books to read.

Yeah, I've read it and I enjoyed it. Not as much as the first book, but still a great read. I highly recommend it!

The A Song of Ice and Fire series is my favourite. If I had to pick the best of the series then I would say A Storm of Swords Part Two: Blood and Gold.

Can't choose, it changes. Before I read A song of ice and fire I'd say in the series department Robin Hobb or Katherine Kerr (besides the originator Tolkien of course), but now A song of ice and fire is certainly among them as well. Ridicilously intriguiging, very nicely written

I loved Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy. And for a peek at what might be happening tomorrow, his Otherland series is mindblowing.
