"Janis Joplin Was Such A Pig..."

It's 1987. At a gay bar in Chicago. About 10 P.M. (Early by Windy City standards.) A somewhat attractive straight dude (he made it a point to announce his "true" sexual identity) suddenly started to brag about a gang bang he had with the great Janis Joplin in 1970:

"Dude, she had pimples on her face and ass, and she loved to fuck and suck three pretty young boys at a time."

I asked him how he knew this.

"Because I screwed her twice, " he said. "She was a total pig." Then he started to flirt with a fiftysomething dude at the end of the bar, and got a screwdriver for his efforts. Around two minutes after, he followed the gay dude out to the patio.

Ten minutes later: "So, I take it you think Janis was the bomb, right?" he said, as he sat down beside me. The bartender asked him if he was ready for another hit. "Sure, my buddy will buy me whatever I want," he said. He smiled and gave me a death grin.

The bartender gave me a look. I shook my head.

"What's your fuckin' problem?" the so-called stud said. "I can get a free drink from any of these faggots in this place."

"Then why did you even bother to fuck Janis Joplin?" I asked.

"Because she was a famous dyke," he said. "She knew she was supposed to pay for being screwed by young dudes."

"That really makes a lot of sense," I said. "Tell me something: will anybody remember your name a hundred years from today?"

He gave me a practiced dazed and confused look.

"Beauty is only skin deep, dude," I said. "Janis might have had a lot of pimples, but you have zero talent. She puts you to shame. Big time. Fuck off."

Then the bartender told the crazy dude it was time for him to go, as I got up and searched for "Me and Bobby McGee" on the Juke Box: Janis started to sing, and the world was suddenly a more beautiful place.

I just saw her psychedelic porsche... man is that far out. She had such style. So sad how things like drugs take anyones life away with no remorse. RIP Janis.

It's hard to say (no pun intended). But I think he was a total liar. I mean, if he was into screwing famous chicks, then what was he doing in a gay bar? And why was he coming on to older gay men?

Amen to that. I plan on visiting Port Arthur, Texas (her hometown) before I die. I hear a few folks are now claiming her as their very own: Too bad they didn't show her some respect while she was still alive.

Janis was no dyke, I knew her..she loved men, she loved them way too much. She may have experimented but she was more or less straight. It was men that hurt her to the point that she didnt care anymore. She wasnt a pig, she was a hurt and lost little angel, looking for love, like we all were.

Nice,MS Heifer.I saw her many times in SF and SJ.She was a good one ---and the only one that could make the hair on my neck stand up when her voice went into that "double note" mode.

Who didn't experiment back then?

My first guy was sort of a "why not" moment when he propositioned me. Then I was soon propositioning guys or we just mutually fell into bed together. No one cared that a guy screwed guys or was being screwed by them. We even did it in groups.

Unfortunately, I never met any of the icons of the day, but by the accounts here they were the real ppl that they portrayed and were accessible.

As for the male prostitute, he sounds like a real piece of work.
