View Full Version : But what feels good?

Feeling good is such a relative term. People get their kicks in so many ways it is almost irrelevent. You could say to a Christian, I worship my own pleasure, baby!, and the Christian could answer Me too because that's the reward for following Christ or some such argument.
Pleasure is a viable meaning any living creature could have for life. If a sunrise gives you pleasure, then the long trek up a mountain at stupid o'clock in the morning is hedonism.

there are a few moments during my drive to work and drive while working that I find myself in tune with the emotion and sound of song. And eventho almost everything I listen to tells a story or tries to describe a higher euphoria or the pain caused by love, money, sex, God, or drugs...
sometimes when I'm singing all of my hypothetical thoughts stop long enough to remember that once upon a time, I had the ultimate peace of mind when the words and harmony of music implied nothing more than ... it feels good to sing this song.

I love seeing the way different people interact with each other and looking at twisted words. "Stupid o'clock" i love it!

A guy once told me I was such a hedonistic creature because the choices I make are entirely based on how much pleasure they give me. I still feel the same but I've learned that going for the instant gratification usually backfires and you end up in a no so pleasurous situation.
So now instead of being if it feels good do it.. is more like if it feels good and you are still gonna feel good afterwards, go ahead :)
I think with hedonist is more about folowing your own judgement and instincts and what works for you.. you know no rules, no commadments to break, just be happy and do your thing.

Amen, sister :) I think hedonism is about making decisions based entirely on how you feel, and not worrying about "Is this appropriate? Is it normal? Should I just do what's expected? Is it societally acceptable?" Go by intuition, instinct, and what feels right (what feels right feels good, no?)!

what you decide that makes you feel good is what will make you feel good
making sure you try and defeat evil thoughts and any other emotion that might make you feel negative towards something or your self later on
make sure you step on the right paths that you build with your brain through your life

I do what makes me feel good, what I want to do, what brings me happiness. fuck the law, fuck da police, fuck religions full of rules and sins and punishment. but at the same time I'm safe about it... I try my best to stay under the radar, but while I might be able to emulate the sheep, I'm certainly not one of them... i've simply infiltrated society by appearing to be a good citizen, lol
