I wrote this today while watching Reagan's funeral...but I was unable to finish until a couple of hours later when I added the melody and the bridge...may he rest in peace....

The darkness that surrounds us

shit. if there's a hell, he will burn in it. sorry, not to offend your sensinbilities, but you need to read between the lines of what you are taught in history class. if you want to lament the loss of someone great, ray charles died yesterday. he comforted more people with his music than reagan killed with his back-handed foriegn policies.

I also watched Raegan's funeral on TV and I love your poem. I think Raegan was a great person and President. He was a strong Christian, had a great sense of humor, and many talents and gifts. He is what every President should be. No one is perfect, and if you're going to look for perfection in a President, you're going to be searching for a loooooooooooooooong time! Didn't Nancy look so sad? :( I'm glad this historical even inspired you. You put it beautifully into words. Keep that pen moving for every occasion!!!!!

It wasn't really about Ronald Reagan...its only called the Balad of Ronald Reagan because I wrote it when I was watching the funeral....its for anyone that someone has lost....not for Ronald Reagan specifically...I just wrote it because I was moved by the sadness and the rain at the funeral...it has nothing to do with politics...Nothing.

i liked it. if only the emotion behind it were felt for an actual person you knew instead of good ole' ronny ray-guns. my mum used to call him that. i really liked this song, just not who it's in memory of. they shouldn't pause the postal service for the man that singlehandedly destroyed the idea of democracy before capitalism...
