ya same here jointman. i have a little wood pipe that i carry around in my pocket, and it sucks. it pretty much soaks in the resin, and gives the bud a kind of weird taste, but it's nice cuz it's so small.

of course glass, if anyone has the choice i dont see why they would buy an acrylic bong, the just look very tacky. glass is fragile, but that is a good thing becuase you learn to look after you pipe and shower it with love

I have a stone pipe that I love and caress. It gives huge hits (much larger than bong hits, for some reason) and has a second no-hole chamber that you can put an icecube in. It's so much better than a bong. I dig it.

well between a glass pipe and a wooden pipe, I would probably go with the Wood Pipe, used to it I guess. And for bongs, well I would go for metal...since thats the only one ive tried....

Glass all the way. Seriously home mades are alright but something always go wrong with them they leak or they get stepped on. Metal has that nasty metal aftertaste and when you scrape it you get metal shavings in the resin. Now glass is beautiful its only drawback is breaking but seriously spend alot of money on a nice thick piece instead of being cheap thinking you're going to break it and be careful thick pieces can usually servive a good drop. When i take a hit from a glass bong there is just something special about the weight, sturdiness and taste that makes it superior to everything else.

wood...my friend made a really good wood pipe in his garage because hes good with wood crafting and its soo tight and wood makes it taste more natrual...but glass is awesome too

Actually, I don't think I've smoked out of a glass bowl before. Gotta try that. It has always been joints, bongs with metal bowls, and metal pipes.

Glass is more fragile than metal, but if you get a QUALITY pipe it won't be that fragile. People who complain about glass being fragile need to learn how to take care of their things. I've been smoking for years and have broken VERY few pieces.

The advantage of glass is taste, smoothness, and class. Smoking good quality bud through a metal pipe is like putting regular in a 300,000 car, or drinking a fine wine in a paper cup. What's the point?

If you cannot tell the difference in hit between a glass piece and everything else you need to improve your palate a bit...

glass. if your worried about it breaking, get an Acrylic. metal pipes heat up way to fast. and its hard to find a good wood pipe.

bottom line, all kinds can be great, if you know what to look for.

Sure, i'll post again.

Glass is fundamentally the best pipe to smoke the best weed out of. it doesn't hold on to flavors after you clean it, if you have a thick piece made with quality it shouldn't get hot, and most glass pipes are just sooooo damn pretty.

BUT i would like to say that ceramic gives you great bang-for-your-buck too. It absorbs heat really well, like glass. They usually hit better when resinated, also, they seem to hold on to the resin after you cleam then. Ceramic pipes are nice because they're usually small, and cheap- perfect for a traveling pipe or something of the sorts. and hey, if it breaks you can just glue it back together (using a heat-safe adhesive i hope.)

Nothin beats a good glass pipe. Bubblers are nice too, but they break more easily.
