Electric Dawn
I feel the rain.
Stretching its cut up fingers,
From the hazy cloak above.
Stinging.
Inviting.
Caressing.
So kind yet so harsh, it pounds against my brain.
Pounding against the drone and drain of weary nights.
Pounding, on the symptoms of boredom.
Pounding, on my relentless silence.
Pounding on all the fear and doubt I keep in a bottle.
It knows my pain, knows my innermost thoughts.
It knows something has to give.
Something has to give.
The sharp electric crash of a thunderbolt echoes in the hollows of my mind.
It is in my mind.
The breaking bottle, the rushing tide of emotion.
The dissolving clouds step aside,
the piercing sunlight stings my sore brain.
I still manage to smile at the dawn.
