Right here goes..believe me this is atleast a weeks worth of work, but its ded great, and makes an interesting talking peice..
like "ooh i see you have a volcano" ... "yes i made it one week when i was bored, it makes an interesting talking peice doesnt it?" ... "yes i feel it reflects the powerstrugle in modern society...plus it is painted groovy colours!"
etc etc etc
Here goes!!
what you need:
To be bored
Lots of PVA Glue!!! no idea how much, buy some, then get more when thats run out.
Newspapers cut into long strips, about an inch - inch n' half in width...in length, as long as the paper your reading is...i used the gaurdian, and some copies of the sun....they were good enough! dont use anything other than newspaper, because its better overal, and its recycling!

Cardboard
Crazy Multicoloured paint.
some sort of container, i used a can of murpheys irish stout cut in half

To make:
1, get a big bit of square cardboard, this is your base
2, get two bits of card board, and cut a line about 3/4 down the middle, then slot them together so you have an X shape,
3, stick this X to your base
4, get your newspaper balls, and start sticking them into the corners of the x, and keep building it up and up and up till you have the bottom bit of a volcano
5, stick your container in the middle of the X on top of all the balls of newspaper.
6, get more balls and build them around the container.
7, let it all dry.
8, by now you should have the basic volcano shape
9, get the strips of newspaper, and start putting lots of glue on them and stick them onto the volcano. I did this by putting them over the ledge of the container, and then bringing them down over the rest of the volcano, then at the bottom wrapping it under the base.
(Leave glue to dry between layers...)
10, keep repeating stage 9 untill its all covered, and you've put a layer of glue over the volcano.
11, repeat that process as many times as you feel nessacery, untill the volcano surface is completely solid, i did it about twice i think, that was good enough. maybe it was three...i forget
12, let it dry hard
painting!
1, bassically go wild, use whatever colours, dont have a boring natural looking volcano! go bright and beautiful! just mix the paint with a bit of glue, about 2 parts paint 1 part glue.
2, paint!
then its time to erupt it, you might wanna plan a party for this, me and my flatmates held a cocktail party...but its optional.
eruption!
its easy, vinegar and baking soda! simple, mix it together in the container and let it blow up!
although dont use balsamic vinegar, we did, and it didnt work very well...plus wasting £5 worth of vinegar.
regular vinegar works best.
if you really want to blow it up, i suggest weed killer and sugar, but thats HIGHLY volitile!
and i hold no responsibility for anything!
