If God is in all things, how come the Bible says that it is the only place to find the True word of God?

Because not all things have actual words in them??? Maybe they're just being specific...you can't read off of a tree, really...
You can ignore me if you want...I'm an idiot..:D

I don't know how the ignore feature works so I could'nt ignore you if i wanted too (but I don't want to :D some of my best friends are idiots...but don't tell them that)
Since the Bible was passed on Oraly before it was ever written, and since words merely represent the wordlessness around us and how it relates I still feel like there is something else there...though what I can not say.

The Bible contradicts itself so much....Christianity started out as a great idea, but has become so tainted by men that it's just a bunch of stupid opinions from stupid chauvenists....don't think I'm a feminist, though. I just prefer to do my own sweet little blend of everything, because church always brought me down.

You make as much sense as anyone else does :D including me :P
Don't all those religous texts claim that only they have the true word of god? I think They are all true, just with different stories and characters and specifics for the way the people live. (no pork in the desert and all that)
It's what is behind the words that matters.

some of my best friends are idiots.
I resemble that remark!!!:D
To your question:
Who wrote the Bible?
Men.
Are men without sin; perfect?
No.
Do men have agendas and/or preconceptions or prejudices?
You betcha!
Suggesting that YOUR book is the ONLY way to God, to enlightenment, to salvation is self-serving, self-promoting. Think about it. Some in the Christian faith proclaim that the only way to God, to salvation is to accept Jesus as your Savior. By deductive, not to mention their, reasoning, if you don't, you are consigned to Hell. Now, does anybody really think that Mahatma Ghandi is serving in Hell? mmm, didn't think so.
...the Bible says that it is the only place to find the True word of God?
You know, honey, the Quran says the same thing. Gee, I wonder which one is right? Am I playing Devil's advocate, here? Am I gonna burn?
Do unto others as thou wouldst have them do unto you.
(I am by no means a Quranic or Talmudic scholar [nor a Biblical one, for that matter], but I'm gonna go out on this ol limb and guess that there is a passage or two in each of the holy scriptures that says essentially the same thing.)
Now, if EVERYBODY lived and acted by that simple precept, does anyone think there would be any wrong in the world? Masochists, notwithstanding, of course.
My theory is to look inside you, where, I believe, God, Yahweh, Allah, Buddha, Great Spirit, Earth Mother (I refer to the diety as Creator; less ismology baggage attached) resides. By being within you, the choice is yours. Act right or act wrong. It is your choice. And your consequence. But God is already within you. It is your victory. Or your fault.
And we come back to God is in all things. Neat, tidy circle, no?

you mentioned the word "masochist".
Bible is too complicated (at least for me).
I am sure that something exists and something happens in the universe.
And that is all.
BTW, my favourite biblical figure is Apostle Thomas.

Why Thomas?
He checked Jesus' hurts after his resurrection.
People used to call him unbelieving. But I think
Thomas' action was a totally normal human act.
One thing is the religion and an another thing
is the truth. We need belief but we also need
facts-based truth.

Spirituality is for the soul,
Religion is for man...
When I was younger I lived in a foster home where church and all things of the church were crammed unto my throat.
I was told Catholicism was the way...the ONLY way.
But I questioned them about the natives in far off lands who knew nothing of their organized religion...were they just up the proverbial "shits creek"???
Well...they were stumped and shrugged off my inquisition.....
I now know that all that doesn't matter.
Don't matter that you have to walk into the church in your "Sunday best"
Don't matter that you pray in their tongues.
Don't matter if you join in their gossip about what so and so was seen doing last Friday night.
Don't matter if you go to confession and make up sins because you're worried that you just don't have enough for the week. (I used to do this)
What matters is whats in your heart, every minute of every day.
Don't matter if you're the POPE or some little jigaboo sittin out in the middle of some jungle playin' with your nuts.
Its what you do with what you have.
Its what you do with what you know.
Its that you do your very best.
God loves us, whatever form God takes for you, is fine, I don't think God minds how you view God,just that you open your heart to God and to each other.
Don't know what to do about the world???
Start with yourself...

Thanks for that interesting view Adam...you just piqued my interest, methinks now I am off to reread that part and learn some more about THomas. (...and I definately agree facts are a very important springboard for faith)
Teepi, I just wanted to welcome you to the field and give you a token can of creamed corn in hopes that you keep saying things:) Very nice story and sound wisdom btw!
