she shackles flowers in a binder
as sprinkles of conjugated showers
fall onto pages in a wistful sigh,
a crazed scream; the wrenched words
canyons on the paper loud as cannons
as they´re wrought, fired from a pen
as bullets made from heavy meanings
that melt crumble shatter on impact
leave residues of symbolic facts

i am king of swords and deny
my edges right to a razors serration.
i´ve a throne of judicial attitudes
delivered in shrugs & half-glances
made of more than shoulder motion
or the set of muscles in my face
confusing as any political regime
or explanations for existence.

I don´t mean to elude definition
but boundaries incite defense
ambiguity forms the borderlines
and the evil air in the kitchen
fogs the windows, blackens bananas
whispers in creaks from the walls
and like just the other night
when we got in the car
i know you saw me shiver
and look into the bushes
hair rising on my arms
and i couldn´t say--
or--
just kept my nerves composed
told you i was a magician
and turned on the headlights
